I'm very confuzzled. This morning I was at level 3 with 79%. Apart from checking the forums a couple of times today i've done nothing apart from look after my daughter (who's home from school ill) and fall asleep with her on the sofa
I'm now at level 4 with 31%!!!! How does this work? If anyone knows and can stop my brain from overheating trying to work it out i'd be very grateful ![]()
I'm not sure of the drill on this one ... so i'm doing it my way ![]()
I'm slowly working my way through all the genres to pick the shows i've loved and watched over the last coughthirtysixcough years ..... some I've sighed and said "Awww I loved that one", some I've exclaimed loudly "Oh my god, that was a brilliant show!" and some I've sat and wistfully said "Wish they'd bring that one back."
It's amazing looking at my list so far to see just how many made an impression of my life, some good - some not so much .... but thank you tv.com for providing me with a wonderful trip down memory lane.
This isn't a rant - please let me make that clear from the start.
This is just me, Emma Martin a 36 year old mother of two beautiful children trying to make sense and bring some comprehension into the last twelve hours of my life.
I picked up my daughter from preschool at lunchtime and settled down to watch CSI: Crime Scene Investigaion's episode seven of it's eigth season. I knew it was coming - everyone that loves CSI knew it was coming. Jorja Fox had decided to leave the show, so her character Sara Sidle was written out. It's now roughly eight hours since I watched the episode and i'm still bursting into tears at regular intervals for no reason at all.
The show's writers, producers and creators have been nicknamed TPTB (The Powers That Be) and they are more than aware that CSI fans expect certain things from the show. Quite Franky, they didn't deliver. If you don't watch CSI and you're reading this, then you have absolutely NO idea what i'm talking about. If you do watch however, you know exactly what i'm talking about. "The Kiss" we were promised couldn't have been any more heartbreaking if they'd tried. Yes, Jorja and Sara were given a fantastic send off (which millions of people are hoping is only a tempory one) but my own personal opinion is that Jorja/Sara's departure could have been handled a lot differently and alot better.
I doubt very much that I will watch CSI again - last night's episode has left me totally disullousioned not only with the show but with TPTB. If they rated the people that every week take an hour out of their lives to watch the show, they would have given us a different ending to a relationship that took along time to get off the ground..... They wouldn't have raised all our hopes of a happy ending with the episode a few weeks ago that contained a beautifully written marriage proposal and acceptance .... and they wouldn't have balked at giving Jorja Fox the raise she so clearly deserves. (I'm really hoping last night's episode wins a case load of awards to show them just how bloody stupid they've been to let her go). Jorja Fox is an amazing actress that deserves far more kudos than she's ever received. My other hope is that the ratings will fall off enough for TPTB to realise just how much they've shot themselves in the foot by letting Jorja leave.
The last scene of last night's show involved a letter which was voiced over by Jorja. It was a letter that left me sobbing into a tissue - but make no mistake .... while it was brilliant penned by whoever, it was Jorja's personal interpretation of it that has broken so many hearts. (Quick update: have just found out it was Jorja herself who penned it, which explains why it was so hearteflt.)
TPTB of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Take note ... Go to some forums, read some posts ... you'll see for yourself just how many people you've upset, how many hearts you've broken and how angry some people are at how you handled all of this.
