Not much comments for my previous list (5 comments, 2 by me
), but thanks for reading it anyway
. Anyway, without further ado, let's begin!
==============================================
25. God of War (Playstation 2) (SCEA)
Sony has always lacked a series which they could fall back upon in troubled times, except for maybe Gran Turismo. This ended in 2005, with the release of God of War. Picking up heavily from the likes of Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry and Prince of Persia, God of War immediately captivated and stunned all gamers with its flashy gameplay, its brutal and bloody approach, its increbidly awe-striking story, its memorable character cast- especially the protagonist- and its high production values. Even though God of War was accessable and easy for gamers, it was difficult enough to be dassified as the hardcorest of all hardcore games.
The trilogy is soon going to end, with the release of God of War II next year. We all are eagerly awaiting Kratos' first, and probably the last, outing on the PS3. We don't know how good God of War III is going to be, but we do know that it will be one heck of a ride, and will remain embedded in our memory forever.
24. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (Xbox/GCN/Playstation 2) (UBI)
Prince of Persia has always been revolutionay with what it did. But the series had been long dead some time ago. There had already been an attempt to reboot the series in 3D, but it failed. When Ubi announced that they will be taking over the series and rebooting it, there was jubiliation and apprehension mongst the masses at the same time. But the audienc need not have worried. Prince of Persia, with its beautiful and breathtaking graphics, its arobatic stunts and combos and moves, its immensly satisfying puzzle design and a story that everybody could be attached to, was definetily one of the best games to have been released last gen. It even spawned two sequels, which even though weren't as good as Sands of Time, were achievments within themselves.
Last year, we got another Prince of Persia reboot, which might have been better than Sands of Time, but we cannot forget that it was Sands od Time that started it all, and gave it a fresh new look.
23. Resident Evil 4 (GCN/Playstation 2/Wii) (CAPCOM)
Before the release pf Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube, the series was going from bad to worse. Whil every new entry was good in its own rights, the franchise was getting stagnant and repititive. With the release of Resident Evil 4, which is said to be a revolution by all gamers alike, Resident Evil was rebooted, and a fresh new look was given to the series. Resident Evil 4, even after the initially baffling exclusion of zombies, was scary as hell, and was extremely fun and involving.
Now, Resident Evil is going downhill again, thanks to the not so good Resident Evil 5. But the legacy of RE4 will always be kept alive by the likes of Dead Space.
22. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360/Playstation 3) (ACTIVISION)
The Call of Duty series, which started as just another Medal of Honor clone in a market which was choked with World War II shooters, eventually found its own and became a reputable brand in its own right. However, with the series growing stale and the sales and critical acclaim levels dropping, it was decided that it was time for a change.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare abandoned the traditional World War II setting, and instead took the story to an unspecified future where a ficticious war was being fought. The singe player mode, backed with gorgeous visuals, a compelling narrative and astounding production values, however, played second fiddle to the game's multiplayer mode, an online mode which trounced heavyweights such as Halo 3 and is at the top of the Xbox Live charts to this day. It can be said that what the Halo series began, Modern Warfare took one step forward and perfected.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is due for release next month. Aready, it is being touted as a game that could potentially become the highest selling game of all time. We can't possibly know yet if it will be good or bad. What we do know is that developers Infinity Ward will have their hands full, trying to create a game that can best the wonder that was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
21. Halo: Combat Evolved (Xbox) (MICROSOFT)
Apart from Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark, shooters had never been done properly on consoles. Halo: Combat Evolved came on the Xbox and changed all that. Often cited to be the reason for the Xbox's success, Halo was praised by one and all, reviewers and gamers alike, for it's incredibly deep campaign, its fresh new gameplay and its awesome multiplayer. Gamers often call Halo the Half-Life of consoles.
Halo has spawned many sequels and spin-offs and none of them have waivered in terms of quality. In fact, even the recently released Halo 3: ODST, which is often called an expansion pack, recieved rave reviews and was universally acclaimed. Even the upcoming title, Halo: Reach, is being eagerly anticipated- a sign that shows us just how powerful Halo has become.

Thanks a lot! Well, yeah, I was having a lot of trouble with the... er... modern games. So I decided to get rid of them in one go.
Anyway, I have tonnes of other games in mind. Trust me, the list will only get better.

Well, after you have a look at the games I'll be listing out fron now on, you'll see why I have placed RE and RE4 so low.
First of all, thanks!
I know Halo is on the PC too, but as this is a console list, and I already told you guys that I wont be adding any PC games, I didn't write PC in the brackets.
And I wad talking about the games that are PC games, you know? Like Half Life, and Doom, and Wolf 3D. They have been released on other systems, yes, but they're PC games. Just like that, Halo:CE war originally an XBOX game. It was just ported over to the PC.
Thanks for reading!
I'm not much for CoD 4, I'll probably give it an 8,5 or something, but I'm not much of a multiplayer guy. That has to be taken into account I guess.
Thanks!
Yeah, COD4 was great mainly due to its multiplayer mode. Yo should really try it out. And you should play it on the 360.
