I didn't know the game NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits even existed until I saw it listed on Metacritic the other day. I read the description and decided to give it a try.
NyxQuest is a 2D side-scrolling puzzle platformer that is available on WiiWare. The story is set within Greek mythology, and it has a plotline that is very romantic by video game standards -- Icarus, before his wings get burned, discovers a mystical realm high in the sky, and within it is a girl named Nyx. The two fall for each other, and when Icarus's wings get burned, Nyx risks her immortality to come to Earth and find him.
It's not a perfect game; the game is short, the sound effects and save system leave something to be desired, and a good portion of the stages feel a bit similar to one another. If you have a Wii though and are looking for something different, you should check this game out. It's a lot of fun to play. The puzzles and platforming are unique and well-thought out, using the Wiimote very well. The atmosphere is great and the music is better than average. Perhaps the best thing about this game is that it gets the balance between fun and challenge just about right and never really gets too frustrating. Puzzle games can sometimes test your patience if they get too hard, but this one avoids that. Admittedly there were times early on when I thought the game might be too easy, but by the end I came away feeling satisfied.
Anyway, I wanted to throw this out there as this is a title that has probably slipped under the radar of most people but deserves some attention. It made me wonder what other undiscovered gems might be sitting out there on WiiWare. It can be completed in less than 5 hours without much of a problem, but it is still worth the $10. If you have a Wii, give this one a try. I scored it an 8.5 by GameSpot scale, but the fun factor was higher than that.

Interesting, it seems there are a ton of WiiWare games I still need to try.
Guess it's worth updating my Wii after all.

@ms_hijikata: There is a little gadget that you can buy that will allow you to go wired on your Wii. I actually have one even though I go wireless with it. I don't remember how much it costs though. I'm sure it was overpriced, like all such gaming gadgets are

@siLVURcross: This is only my third WiiWare game, with World of Goo and Bonsai Barber being the other two. I've liked all three, and World of Goo is one of my favorite games of the past three years or so. It wasn't until this one where it really started to hit me that I'm probably missing out on WiiWare. I'm going to check out Lost Winds, Swords & Soldiers, Tetris Party, and a couple others when I get the chance.

Cool, now all I need is a Wii. Might get one by Christmas though.
