I've noticed lately that I have been losing my interest in gaming.... I KNOW, I FREAKED OUT TOO!!Every once in a while I fall into a place where no matter what game I play it feels like I am just playing the same game with different characters and cover art. Today I sat and thought about what game through all the generations for whatever reason I really found impressive. I threw Fatal Frame into the xbox today and took it for a ride. Fatal Frame for anyone who has not played it, is a Japanese Survival Horror. You are armed with a Camara that can collect Evil Spirits. The game is very story driven, but the camara as a weapon is extremely cool and this game is Pee your pants scary. Playing it in the dark is only for those withnerves of steel. The first time I played it, Chris came to watch me at some point. He screamed out loud twice and turned the lights on.Now, I didn't hold out much hope as I started it so deep has my game depression been lately, but 10 minutes in I was hooked. I played Fatal Frame from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm today pausing long enough to get my son off of the bus at 4pm and take a couple of quick pee breaks. It was awesome. I haven't been enthralled in a game like I was today in a long time. Even now, my console is paused not turned off. I will be going back as soon as I am done here. I just feel so good I wanted to share. I know that most of us go through what I call gaming angst every once in a while so next time it hits you go back to a game that you remember really rocked your world and see if it still does. I am totally out of my funk. I am thinking already of what I am going to play next. I am looking forward to a weekend of gaming. I am feeling totally like myself.

My friend Seangave blood today. Sean reminded me that it is something that I need to do again as soon as I am able. It is something that if you are able to do everyone should do. Everybody knows someone or knows someone that knows someone that will require emergency blood at some point in their life. Please if you are able too, give blood. You rock Sean, I wuv you.

My very dear friend Austin wrote a fantastic little blog about unplugging. Check it out if you have a chance. The man has some valid points and I for one am intending to take his advice.

Christophers Master Chief costume was a rousing success Halloween night. It was the only one that we saw and it seems he has been crowned King of the boys age 8 to 20 lol. So many teenage boys jumped up and down saying how cool his costume was it was amusing.

I only played the demo to the first Fatal Frame, and from what I played, it definitely was scary. But yeah, I have bouts where I don't feel like gaming, and I actually haven't really gamed for the past few days. I've been hitting games hard during my vacation, and perhaps I burned myself out.

They're being bastards about releasing Fatal Frame IV outside of Japan. Damn them! It looks great.

I didn't pee my pants from Fatal Frame, but I did feel like I had heat rash from constant goosebumps... hands down the scariest game I've ever played.

@LordKingboat - If you can find a copy of fatal frame you should try it. Welcome to my blog. \

@JustPlainLucas - Yeah I've had that happen too, where I've gone so hard I've burned myself out. \

@Foolz3h - It was only going to be on the wii anyway I heard. \

@ss4brolyupth - ikwym \

@polsci1503 - Scott, honestly I've never had a game scare me as badly as that one and you know how much I love my survival horror. All three of them were equally terrifying.

I know I have Fatal Frame 2 somewhere, not sure about one. I always wanted to get it but I think it was always so expensive that I ended up never getting it. I still want to play it some time though. I really hope I never stop wanting to game. I see this type of blog all the time but I really have never experienced it. I sometimes go a week or so without gaming, but mostly I game at least once every couple of days. This is especially true with Gamefly as I always have a new game to play. I would recommend trying out Uncharted 2 if you haven't yet. It is great.

I had to go and have a look at my collection to see what game might do that for me. Probably Crackdown. I very rarely replay games, but I've played through that twice, and I could see myself doing it again. I don't own it, but no doubt playing through Bioshock again would do the trick. Or maybe RE4 on the Wii. Or Call of Duty 4. Or Condemned. Or Halo 3... Yeah, there's a few games I know I'd still have a great time with if I was to replay them.

That game for me, probably would be KOTOR. It's still one of the best games of all time in my opinion.

Thanks for the link Kelly. I've been in those funks before, and it's a little distressing, but I think your advice is the best remedy. It's times like that where I reach for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, or better yet, the original Prince of Persia on my PC. Those two games always help me snap out of it. I've seen you write about Fatal Frame before...and I'm just going to take your word for it, I'm too much of a scaredy to play it.

As for giving blood, I haven't done it in a year or so. At least one of the two movie theaters just 4 miles from my apartment has a blood drive every weekend where they give away a movie ticket if you give blood. I should go do that...save some money and a life!

I never got a chance to play that but I seen pics of it
