So I went to that thing at AIS...

Let's just say the morning before I went was a totall stress out. I was up until after 5am trying to get my website to work... it works. And figured okay, after 4 days of not sleeping (was gettin to the point where I started to hear things and see things crawling under the walls ) I should/ could get a couple hours of sleep in. So I set my alarm for 10am - need to get my overnight bag packed, and find my portfolio (discovered that night that I had the empty one in my room and my final one had to be packed out in the garage stupid move on my part )

Anyway...

I overslept, totally ignored the alarm and was woken by mom at 11:28 when she got home to take me to Seattle. AHHHHHHHH. Had to skip my shower, tore the garage a new one trying to find my case... found it . ran back inside, changed my cloths, threw random crap in my bag and we left, pissed I was going to be late, because we were already an hour and 10 behind on my timeline.

Got to Seattle/AIS just about an hour early so atleast I had time to destress. They've done some painting at the school, so not all the walls are that nasty off white color. They put chairs in some areas of the hall, so no more just standing in the halls. but for the most part not much changed in teh near 6 months sens graduation.

Anyway...

Met up with a couple of people I knew, chatted before it started...

There were 5 panalists there: one each from - Sandlot Games, Digital Kitchen, ArenaNet, Cricket Moon, and Flying Lab. Unfortunatly 3 of them were 2D specilized company, so they were out of my range of work... Only left with ArenaNet and Flying Lab for the ones I could talk with after... Neither one of them were hiring directors, or project leads, just regular employees so didn't seem like there would be chance of them hiring me. Nor did it seem like printing out new resume packets (resume, busness card, taresheets ) worth it because they wouln't take them.

For about an hour and a half they were talking. Some of the stuff was common knowledge type of stuff, about the industry, how they got their jobs and what not, so kind of dull. Some of the stuff they talked about was sort of helpful, about how to focus a website - the school required us to show a large range of skills, rigging, textureing, lighting and all that stuff - but according to the speakers, with most of the industry, they want people to focus on one thing, be it modeling, animation, rigging, and not cross into other parts because they have different departments for each.

So all tht stress I was putting myself under to not only model new stuff over the past days, and then WASTING hours on end unwraping them and putting in temporary textures was not important. I could have used all that time to just make models. Rather than only getting one new model added to my site I could have finished 6.

And it was really not nice, but nice, to hear that alot of people were having the same problem I'm having... Sending out dozens of resumes and not hearing back from ANYONE. Even one of the guys that is an amazing artist, who helped teach some classes, hasn't landed a job yet... Although, that makes me feel worse, kinda, because if he's that good and not working than I'm totally out of luck...

At 5:40 we had to clear the room because there was to be a class in there. So the 5 were going to go out into the lunch room and sit and talk with us. About half stayed = the rest had classes to go to = it was nice, to have small one on one groups. We talked about stuff for about an hour.

I was talking with L. from Flying Lab. She said they were looking for asset modelers... MEEEEEE!!!!... for a project tthey are currently working on.. a kids game. So she gave a couple of us her direct email address, to send her our website addresses, and she'd pas them along to the department directors : rather than keeping us in "Human Resources He**" where we won't hear from anyone.

The job...well, internship would only last thru to January, so I'd be back to looking for work again, but atleast it gets me into a company. If I do a good enough job, then it might lead to a hired on job, but we'll see. The "other" Kim had her interview this afternoon, she starts work on Monday. She's going for Animation/Rigging.

So that's where I stand for now, just wating to see if they respond back to me or not... Thus far not.

SN "Changing Channels" was an ok ep. Had issues with the twist to the Trickster, but won't comment on it until later, as to not spoil it for others.

That's all for now.

Quick fly by.

So been working like crazy on new 3D models, for the last few days... Nearly non-stop each day for more than 20 hours a day... Very little sleep.

Getting ready for a thing at AIS on the 4th. The school is hosting a panel discussion with members from some of the local (Seattle area) game studios, including Flying Lab, Arena Net... Grads and current GAD students are invited, and some of them are accepting resumes. Thus I need to get my webpage done (quicker than I'd like, so no revamping it just yet, just fixing broken links and adding a couple of the new mods.)

I figure maybe if I can give them the papers in person, rather than emil it may help me land a job. Or, atleast I can show them what I have and they can tell me what to work on before I resubmit a resume.

After I get back home I've got to fill out an application at the hospital where my Aunt P works - data entry/billing stuff. I'd be scanning documents, and doing data entry stuff - serious snooze work, but atleast if I get that job, I'd be in Seattle (most likely living with her for a couple months ) be closer to the game comps, and be able to save up some money.

SN pics: Dayyyyysss ago, while messing with PhotoShop CS3, I came up with some SN goodness, Posted them to the Pic thread.

Getting the last few Motivators done, and plan on getting some posted, HOPEFULLY, next week... Just depends on how things go in the next couple days... (hopefully it is that I get a job ).

-----------------------

Well, back to Maya... Will post a couple renders of the stuff on here next week.

Howdy all *waves*

So as most of you have noticed I've been about 96% M.I.A. from these parts for the last two-ish weeks, give or take a lurking post here and there. Thankfully that is about to change... well sort of.

We went back over last Thursday night. The memorial was this past Saturday, it was nice, more than 100 people showed up. About an hour for the service, hour for the reception then a bnch of people went up to Grandpa's house... Mostly just relatives and close close family friends (a large number that were at the service were members of their church ).

AND thankfully Uncle C's wife didn't fully turn the reception into a "Look at us (their family) we're rich and putting on a party" - they always like to show off and be all important - and it would have pi$$ed grandma off if they pulled it, but we kind of rigged stuff to keep them from doing it.

Anyway...

I could only stay up at the house for about an hour before I finally had to split - too many people + small spaces + loud screaming kids = panic attacks for me, thus, I had to take off for a couple hours to clear my head and let some of the people leave, go do something else. Even mom knew it was getting to me. By the time I got back most of thm were gone. We got back home lastnight. Shouldn't be driving back and forth every weekend anymore.

-----------------------------

Been having serious internet issues. Would stop working for hours at a time EVERY SINGLE DAY for the last week and a half, more than half the day it was out each time and they couldn't ever freaking tell me why, but I was able to get them to comp me a week on the bill, so atleast won't be paying for not being able to use it. Looks like it is working now , haven't had any problems... in the few hours I've had to use it that is

-------------------------------

Saw a movie over the weekend too... Any one guess what it was... Little hint, they come out every Halloween (well the last 6 of them that is )

If you guessed SAW 6 you would be correct ... And before you say it, yes weird timing to see that movie, but I needed the time to just enjoy something.

It was good, interesting traps, good deal of blood and pain. New information was added to events of the past, expanded on things. Perfectly wove this one into the criss-crossing of timelines spanning the franchise. Had mostly intresting twists (except: bringing back the lady detective and having her nearly instantly suspect Hoffman... weak twist, too quick to have them turn on him after the events in the last movie, where her boss was all but kissing Hoffman's a$$.
) Plus, I wasn't to happy with the aftermath of the first trap - don't get me wrong it was a cool trap - but, they freaking showed who survived in the ads for the movie, so you knew who "gave their pound of flesh", hate when they give stuff away like that. I was about 97/98% correct in what I figured each of the twists would have been, not going to give away any details because I know there are some who want to see it but may not have yet. But soooooooo glad they left yet another open door to connect with Saw 7... Pick up right where this one left off. Little hint, late night delivery of an envelope in an office door. They are already in Pre-Production for it, and Toby will return, but they don't have any other info on it, except that it is supposed to be the final one .
------------------------------

And I was given the software I was sooooooooooooooooo waiting to get... and shortly I'll be switching off this computer and switching on my good one to load all 10GB onto it... Should take roughly an hour or two to fully load all of it... CS3 Master Collection , and ZBrush. Well, first I gotta take about an hour to move some of my old files to CD/DVD to clear up more space. Take off old software and what not.

So you know what that means... NEW AND IMPROVED SUPERNATURAL ART/CONTENT coming soon to a SNPic thread near your . And now that I actually have time (and better software ) to do it I can finally get some work done.

But... This is where the I'm not going to be fully around here as much comes in, will be spending more time working on the 3D and pics stuff, but WILL, try to be back on here more, closer to like I use to be .

----------------------------

Oh, one last thing. Bobby has lost his last baby fang . He lost one of the top ones while we were gone, and lost the last one this morning, I have it on my dresser. It was so weird last week, he had both sets of teeth - 4 fangs on top, his lower ones came out before the new ones grew in.

He had to be the odd one of the bunch, with the other three cats their baby teeth fell out and were gone for a couple days before the new ones came in. He deceded to hold on to his for a bit extra .

He is growing into one handsome little guy (well, big guy), figure he's going to be bigger than Bit in no time flat.

Got him a little skull bandanna for Halloween looks sooooooo cute in it.

-------------------------------

This is all for now. Hope you all had good weekends.

*hugs*

Okay, so like I said I've really only seen him in the two shows. And I've seen two or three episodes of Dark Angel, and he was okay in that show. I have found him to be a rather good actor, and he is really talented. He's not just getting by on...

Sure I know there are those fans who only see him as eye candy and nothing else. Well I'm not one of those, I see him more as a talented actor who just happens to be good looking. Because it is the talent in his acting that makes me a fan.

Mom and Dad Save the World
This is one of those movies where some may say it is stupid, others say it is good. I say it is good with stupid humor. I’ve seen it a few times and it has yet to get old. The jokes are fairly good, but the characters are rather funny. Toy...

Saw IV
This movie was awsome, it totally makes up for the dullness of the third one. The deaths in this movie were so much better, the story had great twists and turns. We finally get to know the true reason why Jigsaw became the psycho killer we all...

Hackers
It's not great, but its an ok movie thats fun to watch. The story was weak, the characters were bad, but for some reason you can't look away.
