here is my own personal opinion on the current situation

wow,... the PS3 forum is full of price and dissapointment threads,... ...I already have a headache from all those blokes complaining about the same things all the time... ...will quit this forum for a while, till those people get real again
the real reason i am writing is, I want to discuss the E3 Sony pressence with bit.
In my opinion, Sony did a good job, their press con was far from a hype and action enertainment show like nintendos manifest of communism(remember how it started),but Sony made some fundamental mistakes:
really great games where not mentioned, especially multiplatform games (like 360 did), while the games, they showed, sucked (mainly because of lack of develpment time). it seemed to me that they where shy... but why?

no matter what, Sony convinced me to wait for PS3:
Hard Rain, MGS4, WarDevil Enigma, FFXIII and UT07, especially Hard Rain was great, but why did they not showed this game(tech demo?) at the press con???? they could hyped it like the molina tech demo instead of stupid GT HD
But, the problem is, what if I am the only one(slightly exagerated) who doesn't need hyping to be convinced of a product:
I mean if, PS3 fails in console sales, it will also loose it's supporters developers, third parties and mainly it's games!!! And why do I fear this, because currently the PS3 is in some sort of self fullfilling provecy produced by fanboys from both sides. Yes also from the Sony fan block, with all their cmplains about price and a lame show:
everybody else, especially fan boys from both sides(MS is teaming up with big N) believe that Sony not just failed in entertaining and hyping it's console but also  in delivering promised performance.
But this last argument is not true, watch Heavy Rain, MGS4, real time excerpt from FFXIII teaser... but still Sony did not setisfy with some trivial entertaining action and some hyping(lame conference), now everyone is dissapointed which might be the beginning of the end.(say analysts)
Still this does not need to be THE END, TGS is still to come, and I know that Sony always prefered TGS instead of E3 when it's about doing some promotion and hyping stuff, it's their main sales market!!!

PS.:sorry for the long text, but nobody else would have read this in the forum, they are all too concerned about prices for now, while a 360 with HD-player extension, HDD upgrade, Wi Fi pack and standard XBOX live also costs approximately 520 dollars
