Ok, at the risk of raising the ire of all Moonlight fanatics (and I'm proud to be considered one), there's a new show out there I'd recommend people check out: New Amsterdam. The pilot was ok, but the second episode for me added some depth and more of a connection with the lead - John Amsterdam. He has lived for 400 years, and though (like Mick) he's not very happy with this situation, he's had more time to come to terms with it and has forged some fascinating relationships and connections along the way. He does have a way out of this immortality and has not given up hope that he'll find that right person. He has a snarky sense of humor, not unlike Josef in some respects, and has a love of animals - specifically dogs, and keeps numbering them (he's on 36 right now). There are also some interesting crime cases to resolve, and we're learning more and more about his past in NYC as well as the loves and losses he's faced.

The third episode is on tomorrow night (Monday) and since we are in the middle of a horrendous Moonlight drought - try catching up with the first two episodes online and giving this show a chance. You might just find something to ease the pain of Moonlight's absence.

I'd like to go on record as saying that I was totally wrong about this show. I watched the pilot episode and hated it. Everyone told me I should give it another shot, so I did. I re-watched the pilot episode (which still didn't dazzle me) and I watched the 2nd episode. Now that the story is starting to open up a bit more, I am really liking what I see. I'll definitely be watching episode 3. I still don't find the lead guy attractive either. Maybe I just like my immortals with fangs a aversions to daylight! LOL

I'm trying! I didn't start the DVR until episode 3 and I can't get 1 and 2 online. I will watch 3 and see if I want to purchase 1 and 2.

On a similar topic. I am liking Eliot Stone even better every episode! I hope you are catching that one too Kathy!

Okay, I watched last night's episode and I LOVE this show now. Which is porbably not a good thing. I seem to be death to tv shows. I also love Eli Stone, so I will keep my fingers crossed for both.

Pat - I'v tried Eli Stone but it just didn't really work for me. But I have been told I have a defective funny bone and comedies often aren't my thing.
Brooke - I am just enjoying John Amsterdam in Mick's absence. Its platonic - my love is for Mick (but I can watch John) If you can lust after Mick with a perfectly good husband at home, I think I'm allowed a little secondary attraction!

I am starting to find John more attractive now Kathy. There is something about his eyes.

Kathy- What is this husband you speak of?

Kate I've always found him very attractive - just in a different way from Mick. But very interesting!. And Brooke - my mistake, I thought that your statements about being married meant there was a husband!
