Well the rain showered down but it didn't stop Australia's greatest stars from descending upon Sydney to show their support for Baz Luhrmann and the cast of Australia. From Peter Garrett to Collette Dinnigan to Nicole Kidman's niece Lucia - everyone was excited to finally be seeing this amazing epic film that has been 10 years in the making.

TV.com had a prime position on the red carpet and as you will see from our video footage on the homepage we spoke with the wonderful Australia director himself - Baz Luhrmann as well as most of the cast including Bryan Brown, Jack Thompson and David Wenham - a particular favorite of mine from his Sea Change days!

It was also a high light to speak to Aussie music icon Peter Garrett - unfortunately no Nicole and only a little of Hugh - both of which have been on a media rampage helping Baz to promote the film before it's release on 26th November. The ever graceful Nicole was very focused on chatting to the fans who had been waiting for hours in the rain to see one of Australia's brightest stars.

So far the film has received good reviews and I for one hope Baz continues to strive towards directing fantastic films in our beautiful country.
