I've had the privilege to watch Howie in action, as well as have him work with my daughter. This is a special man. Woth his brother Billy also deaf Howie co-founded "Deaf Moose Theater" which has evolved into the "Deaf Youth Drama Program" where his brother is program director.
But I have seen Howie give time for deaf children and their parents.
Howie played a deaf mediator on Star Treks Next Generation in the episode "loud as a whisper" he was wonderful.
He is a gifted actor who we are lucky decided it was a gift worth sharing with the next generations (yes pun intended).
It is well worth checking the old shows he has done.

With her appearances on television she has shown the world that the deaf are people with dreams and abilities just like anyone else.
I firmly believe that it is because of her that we are seeing more deaf characters on television and it has become so common that it is no longer a big deal. And thanks to in part to her, deaf individuals are so much more excepted in life than they were just 20 years ago.
And we now see Sign Language in every medium.
Who says Television serves no real purpose.
As the mother of a deaf daughter it was Marlee that showed me my daughter could do anything she wanted. She gave me hope.
I thought my deaf daughter would become an actor but she has chosen photography as her career, but her younger hearing sister..well she is without a doubt following in the footsteps of her name sake.

Dan Futterman is wonderful, be it acting or writing he does amazing work.
I had the opportunity to watch him work while he was filming the movie "Enough" and he was focused and took his job not himself seriously, . He took time for his fans and made no "star" demands.
It was very exciting hearing he has been nominated for an Oscar for writing. And i'm keeping my fingers crossed. But I must admit I miss seeing him in my living room every week.

Alan proves that "There are no small parts only small actors".
He may not be the star but his characters always stand out and stay with you. His characters are always the ones you'd like to hang out with and have a great time.

He is just a talented guy who is very nice. And there is nothing wrong with that.
