Ah yes, Sony does it again with the announcement of the the latest version of the PlayStation Portable, known as the PSP Go. First off let's list some of the features...

Internal Memory: The PSP Go will feature a 16gb internal memory, compare this to the original one which barely had enough space to store a single solitary wallpaper. Also, if 16gb of space isn't enough for your needs, the PSP Go will also feature a memory stick pro duo slot so you can stick your favorite memory stick in there for virtually all the space you'll need at any one time. Now one might wonder why they're giving us so much memory in the system itself, well that brings me to...

UMD Drive: The PSP Go will feature a new and improved invisible UMD Drive... Wait... What!? Sorry about that, the PSP Go has no UMD Drive on it whatsoever. Now from a development standpoint, this makes a lot of sense, it's cheaper to make downloadable games than it is to make hard copies, but there is a bit of a problem with this, it makes it impossible to play any of your old UMD based games on the PSP Go, you can also forget about getting your games cheaper by getting them used anywhere, and if you don't like a particular game that you bought, have fun trying to trade it in. (note, I don't know if Sony will allow you to trade in a game that you bought online for a different game, but it seems unlikely)

Internal Battery: The PSP Go will feature a completely internal battery that will have a longer battery life. This is all well and good, but couldn't they have made the existing types of batteries last longer or something? All this means of course is that if your battery should ever lose its charge (as in permanently) or if you somehow brick you PSP by trying to hack it (internal battery means no Pandora option), you'll have to send your PSP Go to Sony for a replacement battery or void your warranty. You would definitely want to send it in, because your warranty is too valuable now that they have a...

Sliding Screen: The PSP Go will feature a screen that slides up and away from the buttons. This of course will add to the number of moving part, and thus add to the number of things that can break easily. This would not be so much of a problem if they decided to add...

Extra Buttons/Analog Stick/Screen: With all the extra room that the sliding screen gave us on the controller, you'd think that Sony would put in a touch screen, a mini keyboard, or even a second analog stick (so we could use it for camera controls or something). But sadly, all that they did was make the Start and Select buttons bigger and place them where a second analog stick should have been placed.

The Price Tag: With all these features, the PSP Go will be priced around $249.99 (US Dollars). Compare that to the current PSP Brite price tag of $169.99 and it will make you seriously wonder what the whole point of getting this fool thing will be. Especially since most, if not all, of the games released for the PSP Go will be compatible with the older PSPs if you have a large enough memory stick.

I myself am the proud owner of one of the original PSP models...

Sony still has not yet given me a reason to upgrade.

(Note to all CFW lovers: Obviously, since you can't even put custom firmware on the PSP Brite, you will most likely not be able to put it on the PSP Go. This is part of the reason I'm still happy with my PSP as it is)

Just the other day, I was looking at the Smallville page on tv.com, and I noticed that there was a person who gave the show a review with only two points (which translates to "terrible" by tv.com standards). Now, I admit that the show may not be everyone's cup of tea (or coffee, I'm flexible), but the review was only reviewing the season eight finale! Now I don't have a problem with people dissing a season finale, but those kind of reviews are supposed to be placed on the episodes themselves, not on the show as a whole.

*** SPOILER ***

(Ironically, the episode in question deals with Clark losing faith in humanity as a whole because of the actions of only one man who wasn't even technically human)

*** END SPOILER ***

The main thing that gets me is that this is not an isolated incident, I saw a similar review for Stargate SG-1 that was complaining about only one episode, but it was posted for the entire show.

I guess we'll probably never run out of people who can't figure out something this simple, but I wish there was some kind of safeguard in place so that the enlightened ones could fix the problem when it arises.

They've changed the site again!? I should have seen it coming sooner, first they changed the episode guides to where the seasons and episodes were in decending order instead of ascending. (what for?) And now they've gone and changed the home page from "hard to use" to "ridiculously hard to use," I mean the changes they've made to the member menu are stupid, it used to be where if I wanted to go to a certain favorite show of mine, I'd click on an easy to find menu and select the show I wanted. Now I have to roll my mouse over my now hard to find name and select the show from an overly large dropdown menu. (I have to do the same thing to check my messages, check my queue (I'm an editor), get to my profile, change my preferences, etc...)

I think the people in charge must be on drugs or something.
