The only TV that I got to watch today was Tennessee get smacked by Georgia. However I began wondering about some things on this site and I have decided that this is a cult. I started using this site because danasdude was telling me about it. I harmlessly signed up, put up a blog, a couple reviews, and instantly became a level 2. After many posts, comments, reviews, etc. I got the beloved Soup Nazi status. I have been at that level for a week now but I have been logging in every day. I have seen people who have not made the level 5+ status get black listed because they complained that no one wrote on their blogs. I have started a theory that TV.com is a cult. You quickly get a level 2 upgrade to make you feel like a part. A few people comment on your blog to get you hooked. Then you start to feel the pressure to put every thought you have about every TV show on earth to obtain a Ginsu Knife. You spend countless hours watching shows and paying close attention because your might get a bonus prize of an icon of a crown!! Who is the leader of this new found cult? Based on the information I have I believe it is none other than the famous HappyYellowBall.

Do not get too worked up though. I am a believer and really do want people to write on my blog so I too can one day be a Church Lady.

However I will not buy a box of Amway soap from anyone!!

Hey, you don't have to buy anything now. All you have to do is sign up two or three friends.

Yeah...they level you up easily at first, then it gets harder and harder. And you should read this thread on B.F. Skinner, lab rats and CPs. I think it explains it all!

I think it's all designed to get us ~away~ from tv, really. Because what happens is this: I'm watching House, for example, and there's a good quote, or some allusion, and I think, 'hey! I should submit that!' and so I do, and then I miss what happens next in the show and lose the plot thread...causing me to lose interest in the show. And then, instead of watching the rest of an episode that I no longer understand, I just read a book.

Diabolical!

I need to apologize to Happy. Stig14 pointed me to the thread which explained the situation very well as well as danasdude's "One click is sufficient".

(But I can't help but wondering if the site does not stay broken to suck you in more)
