Well E3 has passed (not really), and now we know alot more about each of the two new systems coming out 4th quarter.
To me sony didn't do bad, but they didn't do to good either. I saw a couple games I liked. 8 days, and naughty dog had pretty good trailers, and hopefully they'll be good titles for the Ps3. As for MSG, and FF I was never a huge fan of these titles. I know the price seemed to throw alot of people off, and having the 499 version is a joke. 600 is about what I expected the price to be, and it may just price ps3 out of a dominant lead in the console race. What really irked me was they released another dual-shock controller design, I don't even care about the tilt ripoff aspect, cause I think every company has had that idea run through the office. One aspect of Sony's PS3 I'm still skeptical of it the free online play, since sony has never mentioned free play, just free service. I wouldn't be surprised if sony has a seperate charge to play certain titles. IMO Sony is going to have a rough start in november especially if consumers can't tell much of a difference in the ps3 graphics, and the 360's. Over the long run the ps3 looks like a good system, but right now it's just too exclusive.
Onto the Wii. I hate the name, and I'm skeptical about the controler, but Nintendo does make it look like a very fun system. Also many gamers are hinting at a $200 price tag which would make it just too cheap to pass up. Nintendo won't say a price which is smart since hardware costs could drop dramatically for production over the next 6 months. As for graphics some Wii games look awful, and others look so, so. Eventhough the games don't look like much they do seem like alot of fun to play. I'm still skeptical about the Wiimote since it seems to be missing some elemental design flaws to make it good for first person shooters, but one genre it looks promising (I bet not even nintendo has thought of this) is RTS games. Just think about that for a bit, and it makes total sense (I hope). Also I'm expecting alot of unexperienced game companies making terrible control choices in the future of the Wii. Hopefull there will be lots of customization with the controller on the users end.
Last is MS, and I've only seen the halo 3 trailer, and I missed the whole conferance because of GS. As for H3 I love the look, and the story so far. I've also seen another trailer with dinasaours and only real gameplay. You can google it and see it too, I have no clue if it's real or not. Neither would surprise me.
