Thats weird, I only updated my PS3 yesturday, and mines still working fine, I suggest copying all your data over to a temporary device, then go in to your system settings, and click on Restore PS3TM System, or take out the disc drive, and make sure it's clean and un-dameged, and make sure you haven't picked up a virus online, if none of this works, then grab your recete, and get it replaced, you'll still have your data thanks to transferring it, or if your not interested, then just get your money back.

(EDIT:/) for info on getting your disc drive out, check your PS3 manual, I'm pretty sure there was something in there about it, or look on GameSpot's PS3 section, theres something about it there too

Hey Jose, I was just looking up your problem, and similar things ar happening to people who have played COD4 online, this is suspicious

yeah i know it happens to some people that have COD4 for the ps3 what people are saying is that COD4 is a Glitch game and will mess up your ps3 idk if it happens to 360 owners but now i got to wait 2 1/2 weeks for sony to send me the replacement

That hasnt happened to me yet, it might not have been the update but rather you console itself, you may have gotten a bad copy of it. Its a good thing your getting a replacement. Hopefully it works alot better and last alot longer.

Yeah, aparently, it usually has audio dissapear, screen goes blank, then it won't read COD4, then it won't read anything else, I dunno how much you enjoy COD4, but you might want to stay off of it until somethings been said, oryou could send a letter to the developer, I dunno, but t's doing something to the Blue Ray Drive, either that, or you were unlucky and got a bad PS3
