The time has come to share my thoughts of the space stage of Spore!
The space stage is basically a sandbox game were you can do what ever you please, you are in controle and how you progress is up to you! Wan't to blow up the planets of your rivals? Why not! Want to make a planet flowing in lava an oasis? Then why not! Well you should get the picture you can do what you very well please.

As you can see by the toolbar at the bottem right of the picture you have many tools at your disposal. Including Lazors, Missiles, Colony creators, loyalty boosters atmoshpeare generators and the ultimate weapon of distruction, the Planet Buster which obliverates a target planet but you should use with caution! Of course there are more tools than the ones I mentioned but I will let you discovour them for yourself when/if you buy/have the game.
You have the ability also to turn a freazing cold planet or a boiling hot planet to a planet capable of supporting life, this is called terraforming and it is damn cool. Basically there is not much to it, all you need to do is select your atmoshpere tools (you will eventurally gain tools that don't have ammo limits) on the planet of your choice and select the tool of your choice and click on the surface and you will increase the T-Score of the planet, when you improve the T-Score enough you will be able to place plants on the planet to stabelise the T-Score and then animals to help the planet support colonies with buildings.

So now we have covoured the player however you are not alone in the galaxy! There are several other empires inhabiting other star systems. Like in the other stages you can interact with these races and either form alliences by doing missions for them, offer them sporebucks or if you cant be bothered doing that you can blast them to smitherines.
Some races will be friendly however there are others that will want to fight you as soon as you move into their turf. Space empires ain't the only types of races in the galaxy, there are also tribal and civilised planets as well as wild planets which are possible for you to help them evolve by placing a monolith on civil, tribal or wild planet.

The Grox is the biggest empire that inhabit the area around the galactic core, they will attack you on site however it is possible to ally them however it will cause everyone else to hate you. However, if you choose war the Grox have a weakness which can be used to distroy grox colonies instantly.
Stratagies:
* When heading for the center of the galaxy, take alot of energy and repair packs.
* Try not to go at war with more than one empire at a time. Making friends can benifit you more than distroying them.
*When capturing colonies, aim directly for the city hall, when the capture bar fills stop attacking and head for the next colony on the planet if you need to or press the capture system button if you have captured all cities.
* When conquring an empire, target the T0 planets first and distroy the colonies on them, then target the T1 and T2 planets, ALWAYS leave the enemy home planet UNTILL LAST!
* When purchasing tools, always buy tools that have no ammo limits first or buy ship upgrades or upgrades for certain tools you currently have before you buy items with ammo limits.
* In the Civ stage try and get at least 1 city of economic, 1 city of religious and 1 city of military.
* In both Space and Civ stages try and have your colonies happy so that they produce spice faster and in larger ammounts for the space and civ stage respectivly.
* When you want a planet with alot of spice storage, follow the following:
- Go to an unclaimed star system that has a colour spice you want lots of eg: Green spice.
- Teraform the target planet to a T3 (with all the food web fild out, 6 different herbivores, 3 different carnivores/omnivores, 3 different small, 3 different medium and 3 different large plants)
- Place a Monolith on it.
- when the planet evolves to the space stage make a trade route with them.
- when the trade bar fills buy the system, you have yourself a planet who's total spice storage is 50 and of a rare spice as well
* Having trouble selling spice at high prices? Find an empire that doesen't have the spice you are looking to sell and try and sell it to them, you will get more sporebucks because of demand.
* When teraforming, drop the animal or plant and pick it up again, the planet will have the species you droped even though you picked up the animal, it is much easier than going to a planet to get more animals, same goes for plants.
* If the animal you drop dies it is because 1. you need to iprove the T-Score of the planet or 2. there is not enough food for the animal to survive (plants first (all 3) than herbivores than the carnivore.
A step by step guide to Teraforming:
- Go to your atmoshere tools and place an atmoshere generator on the planet (some planets already have atmospheres but are either too cold or too hot, use the freaze ray or heat ray to get the T-Score stable for life to exist)
- When you got the T-Score in the T1 catergory place 1 small plant, 1 medium plant and 1 large plant.
- You have now stabelised the T-Score, place 2 different herbivore species on the planet
- Place 1 carnivore species on the planet.
- Done.
* Planets with the blue line in their orbet are cold planets, planets with an orange lined orbet are hot planets and planets with green orbet paths are planets in the habital zone, planets in the green orbet paths may have some of the foodweb fill'd out
already so you may want to finish the foodweb, otherwise the foodweb may be alrwady compleate. Other planets on green orbet paths are baron planets and don't have an atmoshere.
That is all! If you have any questions please feel free to send me a PM!
Ok so yesterday I finnished my blog post at the end of the creature stage so lets continue with it shall we...
Unfortenetly there will be no screens of the Civ an Tribe stages as I could not get the gam to work on those stages.
Tribal Stage
After the creature phase your species is now fully evolved and has controle of fire. Although your species is fully evolved you can still add outfits to them which increase certain atributes eg: health.
The tribal phase is different as in you are not controling a single member of your species instead you controle a small tribe.
When you first start the tribe stage you are the only tribe on the planet however soon others will pop up and you can interact with these tribes in a friendly or hostile way. If you are hostile you would want to equip your tribe with weapons and if you are friendly you will want to equip your tribe with social tools. There are three different social and three different offencive tools which can be collected from the huts you build.
As you ally or defeat other tribes you will gain totem peices (different depending on weather you ally or defeat other tribes) and when you compleate the totem pole you will be able to advance to the Civilisation stage.
Civilisation
You now have controle of a city with a hall, you will need to build different buildings in order to make a profit and build vehicles. You will either be Religious, Economic or military, each with different ways of taking over. Military will distroy other cities, religious will convert other cities and economic will set up trade routes to other cities and eventurally you can buy other cities.
Eventurally you may gain the abilities of all three types of cities meaning taking over the world will be alot easier, eventurally you will gain air vehicles meaning you can attack or convert from above. You are no longer in controle of any creatures however you are in controle of vehicle units.
So I have given my veiw of all the stages up to the start of the stace stage, however these four stages ain't even half of it, check back tomorrow.
Ok it has been a while since I posted a blog, I brought Spore about a week ago so I thought I'd dedicate this blog post to it. So for those of you that don't know what spore is it is a game that follows 5 stages of the evolutionary cycle for a particular species (you) you will start off as a cell and rise to be the ruler of the ingame galaxy.
Overveiw
Spoilers may be below, look at your own risk.
Cell Phase
The game starts off at the cell phase, were a metior enters the star system and crash lands on the planet you choose, sending shards into the water and in those shards are you and many other cells, you are put into a competition were it is battle of the fittest.
Once you have controle you are swimming around in water, you must eat to get bigger and dodge bigger cells as they will threaten you and can kill you. You are either a herbivore or a carnivore cell, however it is possible to gain extra parts including an omnivore mouth.
Creature Phase
After the cell phase you will evolve legs and go to land, it is a whole new world and you ain't the only one on it, other creatures exist on the land, som friendly and others not so friendly. You will need to eat every now and then to keep you from starving and you can also collect parts to evolve.
You also have the ability to fight or ally other speicies, some are more friendlier than others, if you are an omnivore or carnivore species then you will probably find yourself killing off other creatures for food rather than allying them,
