The Kipper's Greatest Films of All Time
A list of my personal favorites, not necessarily the greatest from a critical standpoint (you won't find "Citizen Kane" on this list!)

1. Apocalypse Now
Directed by: Francis Ford Coppola
Starring: Vittorio Storaro, Linda Carpenter, Glenn Walken, James Keane, Herb RiceThe movie that has everything and everything done well. -
2. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Directed by: Sergio Leone
Starring: Lee Van Cleef, Al Mulock, John Bartha, Romano Puppo, Jesus GuzmanNot only the greatest western, but stylishly one of the greatest films ever made. -
3. Blue Velvet
Directed by: David Lynch
Starring: Robert J Maxwell, Philip Markert, Leonard Watkins, Moses Gibson, Selden SmithIt's a toos-up between this and Wild at Heart. Maybe all of Lynch's films belong on this list. -
4. Pee-wee's Big Adventure
One of the few comedies that has so many funny beats after repeated viewings. -
5. Dead Man
Directed by: Jim Jarmusch
Starring: Gabriel Byrne, Mark Bringleson, Jared Harris, John North, John HurtAll of Jarmusch's films are worth seeing, but Depp takes this one to a new level. -
6. A Clockwork Orange
Directed by: Stanley Kubrick
Starring: Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Magee, Michael Bates, Warren Clarke, John CliveReal horrowshow, my droogies. -
7. Ed Wood
Directed by: Tim Burton
Starring: Johnny Depp, Martin Landau, Sarah Jessica Parker, Patricia Arquette, Jeffrey JonesThere probably shouldn't be another Burton film on this list, but I couldn't justify putting Glen or Glenda here instead. -
8. Bullet in the Head
Woo's most epic film. -
9. Drunken Master
Directed by: Woo-ping Yuen
Starring: Jackie Chan, Siu Tien Yuen, Jang Lee Hwang, Dean Shek, Shun-Yee YuenHilarious, and some of the best kung fu action ever. -
10. Enter the Dragon
The greatest of all action films; I've seen it more times than any other movie and in every format available (although I did skip the Viewmaster version.) -
11. Dogma
Directed by: Kevin Smith
Starring: Walter Flanagan, Kimberly Loughran, Guinevere Turner, Mark Joy, Scott MosierChasing Amy is probably Smith's best film, but this one is funnier and easier to watch. -
12. Dr. Strangelove
Directed by: Stanley Kubrick
Starring: Keenan Wynn, Frank Berry, Laurence Herder, Roy Stephens, Gordon TannerAlways hilarious AND suspenseful after repeated viewings. -
13. Patton
Directed by: Franklin J. Schaffner
Starring: George C. Scott, Karl Malden, Stephen Young, Michael Strong, Carey LoftinThere aren't many great war films, and this one has its flaws, but Scott makes this one beyond good. -
14. Pecker
Directed by: John Waters
Starring: Edward Furlong, Christina Ricci, Mary Kay Place, Martha Plimpton, Brendan Sexton IIII could've put Polyester or Cecil B. Demented here instead, but this remains my favorite film by Waters. I'll probably change my mind tomorrow. -
15. Natural Born Killers
Directed by: Oliver Stone
Starring: Woody Harrelson, Lanny Flaherty, Risa Bramon Garcia, Evan Handler, Mark HarmonThe over-the-top approach didn't work for most viewers, but I give it my highest compliments. -
16. Mulholland Dr.
Directed by: David Lynch
Starring: Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, Ann Miller, Dan Hedaya, Justin TherouxIf I watch it over and over again, shouldn't it be on this list? -
17. The Crow
Directed by: Alex Proyas
Starring: Elizabeth Thompson, Anna Levine, Marco Rodriguez, Brandon Lee, Ernie HudsonGreat music, action, and production values from the goth/grunge era. -
18. Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie
Directed by: Jim Mallon
Starring: Trace Beaulieu, Jim Mallon, Kevin Murphy, Michael J. Nelson, John BradyWhen one of the greatest TV shows makes an equally excellent film version, it has to go on this list. -
19. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Directed by: Peter Jackson
Starring: Hannah Wood, Liv Tyler, Cate Blanchett, Robbie Magasiva, John LeighReally, the film as a whole belongs here. I thought the books could never be made into films, but Jackson proved me to be wrong. -
20. Gettysburg
Directed by: Ronald F. Maxwell
Starring: Martin Sheen, Richard Jordan, Sam Elliott, Jeff Daniels, Tom Berenger

what an eclectic mix! Gettysburg is one of my favorites (although it didn't make my top ten list). Some of these I've never seen (Pecker?), but I thought Clockwork Orange and Mulholland Drive were a bit overrated. I've watched The Crow a couple times but it's too dark for me to view again. One of these days I will actually sit down and watch Dr. Strangelove! It's one of those that I've rented but never sat down and watched

Wow, you and I have some very similar tastes. On this list, movies I’d 100% agree with as personal favorites:
Patton, The Crow, Dr. Strangelove, Good Bad Ugly, Mullholland (bizarre as it is) both of your martial arts choices, and Gettysburg.
I’m sure you’ve seen most of these, but if you haven’t checked them out, I’d highly recommend the following:
Once Upon a Time in the West, Tombstone, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Chasing Amy
