So, vidjagames. That's why we're all here, right?

First of all, let's start at the bottom. I've awarded all of these games an 8.0 - which, IMO, is fair.

SoulCalibur Legends - It's fun, but otherwise... nothin'. Not enough characters, not enough variation, not enough anything. It certainly has potential, though, and I'd love to see a sequal someday.

Bleach: Shattered Blade - The game is shallow and tiring... but hey, it's Bleach, and it's fun. It can actually be pretty difficult to string together good combos, and there's a ton of characters, but unless you're a big time fan, not worth buying.

Mairo & Sonic at the Olympic Games - Nintendo = good. Sega = not so good. It's a fairly fun party game, but otherwise, nothing of interest... Brawl is the only TRUE way to get a Sonic vs. Mario smackdown.

Now let's go up a little. 8.5's here, which is good... not great, but good.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 - DBZ has never had a history of fantastic games, but so far, the Budokai Tenkaichi series has been a lot of fun. I mean, it's not a real fighting game, but it IS a good way to kill time.

One Piece: Unlimited Adventure - I'm a BIG One Piece fan. BIG. I'm sure you know this already. It's big. And this game didn't disappoint. It gets boring after a while, and the fetch quests aren't much fun, but hearing so many FUNi voices in a new game that DOESN'T completely suck is a great thing.

And the Virtual Console...

ActRaiser - It's a bit too short, and the controls feel kinda sloppy, but for its time... a great game all around. The God Sim part is great, the platforming part is so-so. It balances out.

Super Mario Bros. 2 - Black sheep of the NES Marios? Far from it. Personally, I prefer SMB2 to SMB by a long shot. Four characters, fun, challenging levels... and though I've never gotten past World 3, it NEVER gets old.

Galaga - My dad bought it. For it's time I'm sure it was great... but personally, I don't like playing it much.

Super Metroid - I may get a lot of flak for this, but I'm about half-way through, and it's a bit of a let down. I like the Prime Series and Zero Mission MUCH better. It's certainly not bad... but it's not that great either.

Legend of the Mystical Ninja - Nostalgia let me down a bit. I remember it being hard, but not THIS hard. The controls are shakey, but otherwise, a great game with friends.

Now we get to the good stuff - 9.0s here!

The Sims 2: Seasons - The Sims 2 is great. This makes it even better. Cut, dry, print.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life - I love Harvest Moon. I don't think I know anyone who DOESN'T I rented this game a while ago, and my uncle got hooked and bought it himself (the girl's one, for his daughters to enjoy). It's overdue I got it... though I was distracted by Brawl for a while. Heh.

Virtual Console...

Super Mario Bros. 3 - Best game ever? No. FANTASTIC game? Yes. It's easier than SMB and SMB2 (though that may be because of the Wii's save feature), and this makes it much more fun. The best of the trilogy, and one of the best NES games without a doubt.

River City Ransom - This game is just plain fun. Generally, I'm not a fan of the NES's library - many of the games seem aimless and primitive. But it works for this one. Hell, I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's so much fun to beat people up for no reason. You think you're tough? Eh, punk? Think you're a big man? How'd ya like a TRASH CAN TO THE FACE!!! HA! BIOTCH! Yes, I actually say that while playing.

And the 9.5s - as I never, EVER give out 10s (well, so far), these are the cream of the crop.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations, and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney - I'm lumping them together for ease of discussion. Not many changes, but with Phoenix... do you NEED any? All of them fantastic, though Trials and Tribulations is definitely my favorite. Can't wait for Gyakuten Kenji!

Super Mario Galaxy - Man, I love this game. I don't think I was old enough to appreciate Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Sunshine was a bit of a let down, but SMG... god DAMN. FANTASTIC. Just easy enough in some parts, just hard enough in others, all around fun.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - This is the most innovative Zelda since OoT. No, I'm not kidding. Though the graphics and all around feel of the game was lacking - admittantly, that turned me off at first - but the gameplay more than makes up for it. I can't wait for the next DS game, hopefully with the same style. The way it uses the DS is just so INNOVATIVE. Closing the screens to press a map onto paper? GENIUS!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - You've been waiting for this one, haven't you? Yes, it's great, and yes, I love it. Ice Climbers, Toon Link, and Mario are my mains. Skyworld and Spear Pillar are my favorite stages (and Big Blue, but that doesn't count). And to give a short review... fantastic. At first I was a tad disappointed, but it fits like a glove. Subspace is great (I'd love to see a full fledged game made from it) and the gameplay is all but perfect. New items, characters, trophies, features... EVERYTHING fits together right. Out of all the games I'd played? Best in show.

In fact I think I'll hold a little reward show choosing my favorites of my time away. Or not.
