Jeez, has it really been nine months since I last posted in this thing? I've never been good with journals or diaries, but I'm really getting back into a bloggin' mood, thanks to my new digital SLR. So let's just pretend that, in this blog, I fell asleep under a tree and woke up nine months later. Shall we?

I think you are totally glossing over what is a major change in PC game delivery both in content and price. To have a 5 hour game, any game, selling for $20 in the U.S. and close to $35 in the UK. and elsewhere, needs a huge debate and editorial coverage.
I do not want, and I don't think most average gamers want the day when a game like Oblivion is sold one segment at a time, 25 hours of gameplay for $50 (making it better value than HL2 EP1!) and 5 segments before you get the 'whole game' and can finish the main quest And oh yes, with a hardware upgrade needed to play segment 3 onwards because they've moved the game to 4.0 shaders, or some such.
We are developing a delivery and pricing structure that will drive average gamers away from PC gaming even faster than they already are!
The last time we had the PC gaming market almost disappear was in the early 90's when the games industry went over to CD as gaming media two years before consumers had PC's with a CD drive. The PC gaming media was quiet then too. Even though they paid a high price for it like so many publishers did. (This was EA's growth period as they could buy up so many small publishers for pennies and ultimately led to the boring bland gaming we have today with just a few big publishers).
I just wish you supported gamers more and publishers less. Be more aggressive (like they are in the movie or TV press), rather than so fawning.

Let me guess... You were peacefully hibernating (for WAY too long) under a tree and a squirrel jumped on top of you and tried to gauge your eyes out. I hate squirrels! There useless! The same thing happened to me... I feel your pain.

SLR is Single Lens Reflex, it's a posh lens on a camera that takes brilliant photos.
