Love her or hate her, there's no denying that Martha Stewart has made her name a household word. She's been parodied on Saturday Night Live and served prison time that she might have overturned on appeal, and still the diva is going stronger than ever. From numerous television shows, books, specials, and DVDs to her own mega-Martha marketing empire, Stewart has become the Queen of Domesticity, able to advise on everything from folding clothes to bulb planting to preparing a holiday feast. Though now there may be an army of employees behind the maven's madness, there's no doubt that Martha began it all through her own hard work, sweat, and sacrifice.

Since the age of 13 when she burst onto the scene with her hit single, "Delta Dawn", Tanya Tucker has proven herself as a true, long-lasting talent. She's also earned a reputation as the Bad Girl of Country Music thanks to her tempestuous relationship with the much older Glenn Campbell, her bouts with drugs and alcohol, and her rebellious nature. Never settling for the traditional route, Tanya chose to remain a single mother for her three children, but it's a job she takes quite seriously. Nevertheless, beyond anything, Tanya can be called a true survivor and she's still going strong and performing for hoards of fans. Tanya will and should be remembered as one of the mainstays of country music. She's certainly made some magnificent contributions.

He worked his way through The Facts of Life (as George) and Roseanne (as Booker) before really making a name for himself on the hit series ER (playing Dr. Doug Ross). Now, with a long string of blockbuster movie hits under his belt, no one can say he's riding on the family name. Like a fine wine, the hunky actor only gets better with age. From The Perfect Storm to Ocean's Eleven to Batman, the talented actor has proven that he can make any role come to life. May this leading man's star continue to shine for many years to come.

At various times, Jamie Lee Curtis has been called "The Scream Queen" and "The Body", but she's received more widespread acclaim as a comedic actress for her roles in the TV series Anything But Love (for which she received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress), and movies such as Freaky Friday, Christmas With the Kranks, Trading Places, A Fish Called Wanda, and True Lies (for which she won a second Golden Globe award). The daughter of famous parents, Tony Curtis and Janet Leight, Jamie won notoriety as the star of the horror flick Halloween. Other well-known movies Curtis has starred in include My Girl and its sequel, Perfect, The Fog, and three of the many Halloween sequels. All totaled, she's appeared in over 60 movies and a television series. She's also the best-selling author of a number of children's books, and is actively involved in numerous children's charities. On top of this, she is a Baroness, a wife, and a mother of two. This talented woman has not only worn numerous hats, but she continues to wear them all quite well. Long may this Hollywood queen reign.

There's a reason Cher is such an admired person in this world. Everything she's ever attempted, no one thought she would be able to accomplish. No one thought she could sing, but she's boasted number one singles in each of the last five decades. No one thought she could act, but she's starred in a string of film hits, even winning a coveted Oscar for her role in Moonstruck. Cher's also been a tv star, a philanthropist, an advocate, a director, a mother, a role model, and an icon. You have to admit, Cher has incredible tenacity and she's got guts, too. It's been said that at the end of the world, the only things left will be cockroaches and Cher. Kudos to the person who has lived her life in her own unique way, blazing her own trail, succeeding despite her detractors, becoming a beloved icon throughout the world. She's accomplished the things no one thought she could, and she's always done it her way.

Given the frequency with which today's shows come and go, it's hard to believe that one show is still world renowned some 50 years later. There's a reason for the incomparable success of a show like I Love Lucy. Lucille Ball was an absolute comic genius. Her strong sense of timing and hearty ability to make fun of herself has enthroned her as the standard to which all comedians still strive to achieve. Who will ever forget the "Vitameatavegamin" episode? How about the episode when Lucy and Ethel worked in the chocolate factory? Or when Lucy went to stomp grapes while in Italy? Lucy's wild escapades were always followed by Ricky's straight line: "Lucy! You've got some 'splainin' to do!" Lucille Ball, in all her carnations, has made us all laugh and she has become one of the most popular pop culture icons the world has ever known. The world is definitely a brighter place because Lucille Ball has been a part of it.

Not many people can brag that they've won an Emmy, an Oscar, AND a Golden Globe. Still fewer can say they've starred on Broadway numerous times, acted in over 20 films, released several musical CDs, written a number of sucessful children's books, and taken on the roles of both producer and director. These are just some of the reasons that set Julie Andrews apart from so many others. Julie has starred in such great film favorites as The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Victor, Victoria, The Princess Diaries, and Shrek 2. Though the lady who once boasted a four octave range no longer sings, she shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Mariska Hargitay is one of the primary reasons behind the success of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Her hard-hitting role as Olivia Benson is not only believable but magnetic - drawing viewers in to the hit series in greater and greater numbers. The 2004 Golden Globe Award was entirely deserving. Now, let's just hope the Emmy voters give credit where credit is due as well.

She's a producer, song writer, guitar player, and this girl can really sing. She's won Grammy's for Best Rock Album and Best Female Rock Vocal. Sheryl Crow has proven herself as a true talent in a business that too often suffers from a lack of talent. Songs such as "All I Wanna Do", "Everyday is a Winding Road", "If it Makes You Happy", "Soak Up the Sun", "Home", and "Steve McQueen" have proven her viability to crank out hit after hit. From best-selling CDs to sold-out concerts to DVD blockbuster releases, Sheryl Crow keeps proving herself as an incredibly talented performer despite her initial naysayers. May she continue to rock for a long, long time.

Anne's velvety rich voice has often been compared to that of another country crooner - Charlie Pride. The original Canadian songbird, Anne has paved the wave for so many of her modern-day successors including Celine Dion and Shania Twain. Anne's tunes aren't heard on the radio as much anymore, but that's a true shame. Anne gave us classics such as "Snowbird", "Could I Have This Dance", "You Needed Me", "A Little Good News", and "Danny's Song". Today, the Snowbird is still cranking out CDs and still packing the venues on her mini-tours. She has, in turn, been underrated, underestimated, and underappreciated, but she's become one of the most awarded performers in the music field taking home Grammy's, CMA's, Juno's, and dozens of other awards. Anne Murray CDs are a definite must have for any definative collection.
