hmmmm.... I was watching a show the other day about conspiracy theories: aliens, Roswell, JFK, etc. Naturally, I started thinking about "The Season of Secrets".
What if we've got it all bass-ackwards?
_1. Kort's CIA op could be to discover who Kermit is getting his weapons &/or intel from. (Since he always seems to be two steps ahead of the good guys.)
_2. Which would explain why they warned Shepard to back off.
_3. Jeanne is Kermit's daughter, we know that. (unless she's lieing)
_4. Kort would have been pretending not to know who Jeanne is.
_5. Shepard might actually be working with the CIA.
_6. Tony's assignment could be to protect Jeanne, so she doesn't become "collateral damage".
_7. What if Kermit's connection is Mann? She's in a position to know sensitive intel. Depending on her position within CID, she might have access to weapons or to the delivery schedules, routes, etc.
_8. In which case, Tony might not be the ONLY one "Under Covers".
_9. Mann could be GIBBS assignment. 
10. Which, added to Tony getting too close to Jeanne, would go a long way toward explaining the tension between Gibbs & Shepard in S-4.
