There's many games I want on this list and many i've never heard of! I would personally import Siren: New translation instead of downloading it. I'm also looking forward to playing My Summer Holidays 3, battle fantasia, BlazBlu, Ar Tonelico 2, Dokapon Kingdom..and ...I won't be getting a 360 so they better have plans for cross platforming PS: I just saw Alone (thai) and its awesome xD I'll be catching Carved sometime this month ^_^.

@xriceballx: Awesome! Alone was cool, by the guys who did Shutter. I really like their stuff. Carved was just okay. I liked the way they did the slit mouthed women she looked really cool. You have great taste in RPGs I'll have to check those titles out. I usually have to order them though they won't order them at my local store. However there is a JP import game store in my neighborhood called Pink Godzilla they have tons of stuff I might try there at least to buy Siren

Siren is one title i'm definitely going to import for sure. It's pretty import friendly i think. We'd have to deal with reading japanese characters, its not like we're going to read anything else anyways, just need a map thats all Yes i did some research on shutter and Alone popped up, great movie! I love those kinda twist, definitely kept the lights on last night XD. I especially liked how the house started to burn down at the end lol, i felt that was pretty cliche i've read up on the review on Carved, I know its mediocre film but the slit mouth women is really cool idea. It's one of those movies where your #$(@ if you see it, you #(#* if you don't I'm hoping to get a few scares from that one Pink Godzilla..omgosh turn down that brightness,Barney's coming through!. Oh if your looking at my list of rpgs, i want to warn you that it's definitely not for everyone, it's heavily anime inspired, and does not do anything to distinguished itself from the ones you've already played. With that out the way, do look into it with low expectations . Oh and i've been having alot of nightmares lately ... thank you Tartan Asia Extreme! and I owe alot to my horror guru, Jbot! go rockstar!! Pink Godzillaarrghazsl!

lol you crack me up rice

Good list, that's for sure. Very similar to my own and looking through, I have really nothing to add.

Now that I'm finally off my Super Smash Bros Brawl kick and playing the 360 again (finally beat Bioshock today), I'm looking through and I've missed so many games this year already, let alone the rest that is coming out from this point on.

Btw, I sent you a friend request on Live.

Thanks I just got it Yeah I know what you mean I start games and sometimes I get distracted with another. I aways go back to them eventually though

Definitely a good list.. covered most of my major wants as well with Silent Hill V, God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII, Gears of War II and Resident Evil 5 to name a few. Some other games that I'm looking forward to with modest expectations are the return of the Tecmo Bowl, Ghostbusters, Golden Axe and Splatterhouse franchises.. some good ol' old school classics, lol. Others with much higher expectations are titles such as Fallout 3, the Star Wars game you mentioned, and Bioshock 2.

Hi Jbot!, did you ever get a chance to see "The machine girl"? The trailer is friggen hilarious! it even has Ninjas! It makes carved look like a teddy bear xD
Posted Jun 13, 2008 2:13 pm PT
I havn't seen Machine Girl yet that sounds great though. I'm throwing it my Netflix queue now. I watched a few good ones though. Blonde Kwaiden a short film by Takashi Shimizu. Very short but notable because the story takes place in Hollywood CA. The protaginist makes some really poignant observations about mainstream, US cinema while taking a cab ride. Most notable is that the story revolves around a blonde haired ghost. A slight jab at the critics remarks about black hair and how it takes on a life of its own in Asian horror. Then I saw another short about called Crevices by Norio Tsuruta (Ring 0). In this one I finally understand the significance of the red duct tape we see alot of in the movie Kairo. Then I saw Sion Sono's Noriko no shokutaku (Noriko's Dinner Table). This was a good one it is directly related to the chain of events that happened in Jisatsu saakuru ( Suicide Club). If you like Sion Sono's work I I would also reccomend Ekusute (Exte: Hair Extensions) In fact Sion Sono is hands down my favorite person right now. I also saw The Happening. Crtics are going to have a field day with this one. I liked it though.

*prepares a sheet of paper and copies down* The moment you said Takashi Shimizu, I was SOLD! ghost with blond hair? way to exaggerate the setting lol. It kinda reminds me of how Agetec dyed everyone's hair blond in the PS2 title "Raw Danger". I'll definitely catch crevice, I know theres alot of cultural influence in j-horror so it'll be nice to get answers ^_^ I've seen Suicide Club but haven't seen Noriko's dinner table, it's on my "to watch" list. I'll also look into Hair Extension and The happening. Thanks!

i'm honestly not a fan of tremendous blood and gore but I could still watch a few gory movies though. I've recently watched Sick Nurses and that movie was 100 minutes of entire gorefest. It had its cringing moments but I find it funny (dark humor y'kno ) . The movie is about a hospital that illegally sells body parts. One of the nurses said she was going to report about the illegal marketing so the other nurses held her down on a stretcher and killed her. She then comes back as a vengeful ghost and haunts the hospital. I get the feeling that the movie doesn't take itself too seriously cuz the nurses are dressed up like some porno. Have you've gotten a chance to see "Stacey: attack of the school girl zombie?" I'm just wondering cuz the screenshots make it look like Battle Royale in a way. Also, have you seen "Red Eye" and "The Wig"? I read an editorial and someone said The wig is kinda like "tales of Two sisters" I seriously dont believe it

Straight gore usually makes me laugh. Very few movies can pull it off and still be taken seriously. Ironically I'm not into serious gore that much either. Films like Schramm or Cannibal , are so over the top they're just depressing and IMO make up two of the most disturbing horror movies ever made. But movies like Hatchet which is just absurd arm ripping, head squishing, I mean it just becomes comical. Stacy was great, Red Eye was bad. I havnt seen sick nurses or wig yet. Let me know how Wig turns out.

I don't know. I think dry would be better. Moist would be best.

You have a point jbot, I never thought about it like that. Gore is not my ideal type of movie to watch so I haven't really thought about it. but your right, there is a border between serious and humorous. Could you imagine watching a serious "battle royale"?.. gross.

Red Eye is bad? I was fooled by the box cover! It looks very haunting, but i'll skip it. I've just finish "The Wig" and I think its a decent K-horror movie. I'd say its better than Carved but It sure isn't Tale of Two Sisters! I enjoyed it though. I've also watched "The Sisters" which is a thai horror and I find it totally superior to The Wig. It's one of the scariest movie i've ever seen this year! I won't be able to sleep 2nite I might take a week off from horror to recover, i've just finished 8 horror movies in a week xD

Wait a minute are you talking about Wes Craven's Red Eye? Thats the one I'm talking about. @PLZKLLME0080: Drippy
Posted Jun 17, 2008 7:05 am PT
no jbot , i'm talking about the Korean one xD. Here's a trailer~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN3Lp3r0JQ0 I just realized that theres an american version too And someone uploaded the entire movie on youtube xD
Posted Jun 17, 2008 7:35 am PT
I was going to say... Well that makes sense; I'll have to check out the K version

Ahh, many good games here! I have to admit there are some that I haven't heard about too.
I love Fumito Ueda, and I believe that it will be worth having a PS3 for his upcoming game. His games are like poetry in gaming.
I will probably take up a lot of space if I list all the games I agree with you on here, so I'll only mention Shin Megami Tensei. As you might know, Persona 4 is out this summer in Japan. I love Persona 3, and I hope that 1) P4 doesn't take 2 years to arrive in Europe and 2) that they actually release it in all of EU this time as P3 was basically only found in England and France so I had to import. I still haven't seen a single copy in Norway, and I even preordered!
Oh, and White Knight Story too. I hope Level 5 gets it to EU fast. We had to wait 2 long years for Rogue Galaxy. I think I'll die if I have to wait that long for WKS. It's sucks being a EU gamer at times.. Which is why I -love- that the DS, PsP and some PS3 games are region free.

I read your Siren review, Great stuff! I didn't know you could move in sightjack mode (makes it much easier ) I like the finishing moves too, just like in the demo where I pummeled the old lady into the window...how indulgent! ^_^ b how long did it take you to complete it? I'm hoping Wing(head of Siren) isn't lying about the 35 hours he promised
Posted Aug 7, 2008 11:55 am PT
Thanks video game reviews are difficult for me, I'm better at movie reviews in my mind 35 hours eh..? Yeah, no more like 10 - 12 hours give or take. There is some replay value though if you want to get every archive item and don't feel like doing it on the first playthrough you can go back to individual episodes w/in the chapter and replay the level. Somthing I feel is quite handy. Over all its an excellant game.
Posted Aug 8, 2008 1:35 pm PT
Yeh, your movie reviews are crazy good, if only you'd blog more so wing lied about 35 hours huh? i knew it was too good to be true. 10-12 is the norm and thats fine. PS.. Just to edit my blog (and mainly those who care which is just you and me atm). The hardcopy release of new translation is set for Europe, there are no plans for a US release )): you know how the first game is broken down into missions? I feel the chapter is utilizing the very same convoluted structure from the first and organizing it into sensible chapters. I never finished the first siren cause after completing everyone's scenario, I was taken back to the very first mission to start all over *grumbles* Anyways! have u beaten the original yet? yes siren is an excellent game, but theres still no way i'm throwing 1o gigs out the window for it XP
Posted Aug 8, 2008 4:19 pm PT
You know I never did beat the original. But I can say that Blood Curse is organized way better. Are you going to bite the bullet and DL or can you import it? I have The original siren out and I may just throw it in to try finishing it . But now that Uncharted has trophies I may just replay that instead.
Posted Aug 11, 2008 11:30 am PT
I drool at the screenshots, and I cringe when editors review the game and bash the graphics and controls. If its too hard, it probably sucks huh? I'm going to import the asia version cause it has english subtitles ^_^ I will beat the original siren someday, it's my duty to stand above all horror games to ever grace a playstation console!
