'The Simpsons' Movie is an ecranisation of the world famous animated series 'The Simpsons', created by Matt Groening and James L. Brook in 1987. And although the movie was so long waited, it appeared to be a real disappointment.

The story begins with Springfield's attempts to clean the lake Springfield, which happens to be very polluted. It all would go well if it wasn't for Homer, who's stupidity puts the town in great danger.

There is one good thing in this movie - it's the animation, which is brilliant. However,this is the only good thing. The plot is boring and illogic, also filled with stupid jokes, only 5% of which are able to get a single 'ha' out of your throat. Some jokes I even find rather disturbing than funny. Without the clever plot and funny jokes, 'The Simpsons' is absolutely worthless.

I think this movie is a commercial product, which became popular only for it's name. I wouldn't recommend it, because it's cheap and shallow, unless you are really curious and want to keep up with the popular culture.
