(This has been attempted three times now, so I'm glad it's finally going through! Looks like the blog bugs have been worked out...?)

Football season is back (hence my change in image!) and while both of my teams had rocky starts, things are looking up after Week 3. The Washington Redskins, with a new head coach and coming off a very shaky 2007 season, are back with two consecutive wins following a loss to the Super Bowl champ Giants. They beat the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, 24-17 in a game where both teams seemed to lose interest by the end of the third quarter. Jason Campbell has been looking good, and Clinton Portis had a very good game. Next week is Satan's Minions - the Dallas Cowboys.

Meanwhile, my Yahoo Fantasy Football team started out the season 0-2, but we had a big win on Sunday to put one in the "W" column. I'm currently ranked 8th out of 10 teams in my league, but I'm hoping for another big win this week to boost my point total and hopefully bump me up a few slots.

And, football means fall which means new TV! I've written and reviewed Fringe, which is my pick for best new series. But I've also been watching House (because my wife still likes it...I think it jumped the shark with Season 3) and we both watched the return of Heroes. After a rough second season, I thought the premiere was fantastic, even if the ratings are off. Other than that, I'm waiting for the returns of The Office and 30 Rock after some great Emmy wins. For some reason, I watched the Knight Rider pilot on Hulu and turned it off after 10 minutes. I'm all for light adventure in this age of too-serious drama, but this is the biggest piece of crap network TV has rolled out in the non-reality category in years.

I like House, but I've been so busy I haven't seen it yet this season. Thanks for the warning about Knight Rider. I knew not using William Daniels was a mistake.

Hurray for Football Season! This is the best time of year for sports, with baseball playoffs and football underway. Just very sorry that my Steelers lost to the much-despised Eagles on Sunday.

I always like to see the Redskins win. They used to train in Carlisle, PA (home of my college alma mater) and I loved Joe Gibbs. Wish they'd done better when he returned.

My fantasy football league is a comfortable 3-0 on NFL.com. It is the first time I wasn't able to be there for the draft so the computer picked for me.....so it's not really my fault I've been winning. The Redskins are going to be fine this year. At least you are not a Lions fan, like myself, and was stupid enough to ink yourself with them on your shoulder over 15 years ago......***sigh***

Hi there. I watched the knight rider pilot a little while ago and when I first watched it, I thought the same thing but what I realised is that you have to go into the show with a different mindset to what you do with other new shows. If you take it is no-brainer fodder which I did the second time, I actually enjoyed it.

Hi, sorry to leave such a long comment in your blog, but I wanted to first say thanks for your comment about the Sept. 30 blackout day. To all who have asked what we hope to accomplish, I have posted a new blog to explain exactly that. Please read it. Its long, but it explains things. I have already heard from a number of staff and volunteers here that they actually believe that this is the only thing that is likely to get attention, since they are routinely being told by management that "its not that big a deal" and/or "it will quickly blow over". We are not looking to roll out the old format, that will never happen. We do want immediate changes to the existing format (including getting rid of the blinding white background). We want to send a message as to just how many of us feel disenfranchised by the way in which they rolled out this new change with so little actual input from us, the real users and LIFE of tv.com. What we want is some actual attention to our valid issues and not merely lip service. And most importantly, we want to send a message that before you do something like this in the future again, find out what we (the actual users) want. Not some focus group, not some design team and not some execs who never log onto the site and actually use it! Involve the people who usage of the site makes YOU money! Hundreds of thousands of hours of unpaid labor have gone into making this the most comprehensive website of television on the web. Its life-blood is its users and we deserve much more respect than your (CBS) actions gave us. That's why we're mad, that's why we protest, that's why we won't be here on Sept. 30!!! Thank you for spreading the word!!
