Scooby Doo was released in 2002, and I hated it. I think it left a permanent scar on my life. But, Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, is a welcome surprise.

Mystery Inc. have become worldwide celebrities, and they return to their hometown of Coolsville for the opening of a museum which displays the costumes of every villain they have unmasked. But, the costumes are stolen, and then real life versions of the monsters start to destry Coolsville, and Mystery Inc. have to solve the mystery.

I prefer this movie over the first one, because this movie remembers that it is based on a cartoon, and often has the characters do things only possible in a cartoon (eg. moving as fast as a gunshot, complete with dust and gunshot sound effect). Also, the story is taken in some different directions, to give it more depth than just "mystery-run around for a bit-unmask the bad guy". But, for massive fans, never fear, that same formula is alive and kicking.

Overall, Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed is a title I would recommend to anyone who is willing to give it a chance, and not take it too seriously. It's just plain fun.

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy is a brilliantly funny movie. I've never seen the original series everyone else is on about, so I guess I didn't already expect something, but I loved this anyway. It is the story of Arthur Dent, an average Englishman who loves his tea, and is about to have a bypass driven through his house. His friend, Ford, is predicting the end of the earth, and saves him just as earth is destroyed, and subsequently, they begin the greatest journey the galaxy has ever seen.

The acting is brilliant, and Arthur's character is basically clueless, just as anyone would be, and he just wants to relax and collect himself. Ford is confident in his knowledge of the galaxy. And every other character is exactly who you'd expect them to be, not trying to be funny by making the nerd a muscle bound superhero (I HATE THAT!). The comedy is great. Most of it is jokes that are statements that make sense if you listen to what the characters say. The special effects rock. I don't see what people don't like about this movie, but hey, everyone's opinion is valued "cough" (YEAH RIGHT) "cough".

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy is a greatly underappreciated movie, and I am glad to have seen it.

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie is the perfect Spongey movie. The writers got everything a Spongebob episode, and multiplied it by 10000! The jokes, like the show, are designed both for kiddies and adults. An example of the kiddy humour, is when Patrick starts running and crying, and his pants fall down. The adult humour is when David Hasslehoff comes to save the day, where most little kids won't know who "The Hoff" is. Fans of the show will instantly recognise all the shows characters, and where they stand, but parents and non-viewers, NEVER FEAR, as all the characters are introduced right off the bat. The music is great, and suits the movie perfectly, especially in the end scene, which is one of my favourite movie scenes ever. My only complaint? It didn't go long enough!

This is a great movie, no matter who you are.

The Rocky series is one of the biggest series of movies ever, both in length, and in popularity. But, the movie that started it all, was 1976's "Rocky"

The film focuses on Rocky Balboa (Stallone), a ametuer boxer who is down on his luck, with a small apartment, and stuck in a "money collecting" job. Meanwhile, Apollo Creed, the reining champ of boxing, needs more publicity, and organises to allow one rookie boxer to have a shot at the title, and that one rookie, is Rocky Balboa.

Despite being filmed with an EXTREMELY low budget, this film still is head and shoulders above movies of today. This is mostly because, it is the greatest underdog story around, and is what spawned the many parodies and rip offs which plague Hollywood and the small screen today. The acting is great, and though Rocky mumbles a lot, if you actually want to sit and watch, you can understand, and he often says what's on his mind. These lines are funny, emotional, and deep. The fight scenes are top notch, and you'll actually be on your seat, cheering for Rocky as if it was a real match.

Overall, Rocky is one of those must see films which defined an entire generation, and I have to say, it changed my life, and taught me to take risks.
