I love old time Rock and Roll music and just found out this about one of the all time greats.
The original to "Leave his love on Blueberry Hill" was GENE AUTRY. In 1940. ![]()
It was not done as a cowboy song but a ballad first in 1940 vinyl and a 1941 movie long before it became a Rock standard.
Who knew what would come of it, also Sammy Kaye and Glenn Miller played BlueBerry Hill in the early 40s and Louis Armstrong in '49.
it was then put into mothballs until Fats Domino remade the song into his greatest hit.

I was listening by preference on my own to Johnny Cash, Webb Pierce, Ferlin Husky, Lefty Frizzell, Kitty Wells, Rose Maddox and other country singers. by the time I got to high school I liked the Beatles but when they first came to America I still was totally hard core country and would not even listen to anything rock and roll.
