It's going to be my last year in high school once my clock strikes 6 am on the 24th of August, Abu Dhabi time of course (GMT + 4).

And the moment I step on the grounds of my school, things will not be the same as last year, as I think. Gone were the days of slacking and sharing answers on quizzes and having snacks on Geometry class. It's my last year, and the first weeks of it are not going to be as fun as playing portables and reading books in the toilet.

No Filipino in this world is not familiar with the acronym UP, The University of the Philippines.

The University of the Philippines, ranked 398th of 500 universities in the world according to the survey conducted by the Times Higher Education Supplement Quackquarelli Symonds (THES-QS), being one of the only two Philippines universities being in the top 500 (Ateneo was ranked 451st).

Now why did I tell you that? Pretty simple. My parents want me to pass the entrance exam of UP, or the UPCAT. But I feel I don't have the guts to do so.

I have been in the honor roll since I was a kid, and so was my older sister. But we were different in some ways. My parents would support her in almost anything she wants or, anything that she feels like doing. What I meant was she may be smart, but if she ain't in the mood doing projects for school, she ain't doing it. And they're fine with it. And when she became a senior, she reviewed for the UPCAT but my parents told her that it was alright if she didn't make the cut. But the heck she passed. One of the only two in our school who passed the test.

But now, it's my turn. My parents didn't even ask me which university I want. They just told me that I must pass the UPCAT too because my sister did, and I have no excuses for failing. No "Just do your best son!" or something like that.

I've been studying algebra and some math stuff for the past 2 or 3 weeks, still havent started on english and sciences. I'm kind of worried because what if I studied and then fail? the UPCAT is a make or break test. You can only take it once. My parents supported my sister when she only studied when she felt like it, but in my case, not really.

I know that they just want the best for me, but can't they treat me like my sister in terms of study habits and school stuff?

Oh and I want to be a surgeon. So, what course should I pick for first choice? BS Biology? Public Health?

And can anyone suggest a second and non quota course? thanks

Some people just don't have opinions. Like inzaneetie013.
inzaneetie013 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could inzaneetie013 possibly have for not rating a single film?
