All of the baby's they can feel the world, that's why they cry.

                                                                                             The Blow

The title of this blog is the title of the latest record by the fantastic post puk intrumentalist quartet from Austin, Texas Explosions in the Sky. There amazing, i saw them live at SXSW, amazing. So anyway the past couple of days have been cool, nothing super exciteing happened but it was cool nonetheless.

So monday night i wen;t to this art thing for my friend Amiee, i've gone to all of her showcases before i love them. I think i've commented on being the first one to ever buy any of her work. But in any case she had a good showing a lot of people turned out. I bought one of her paintings that i really liked. After the showing we hung for a bit. I left to change for a dinner me and Emma were going to. We had reservations at this place that was supposed to be all the rage.

And once we got there we could see how painfully trendy it was, all of the people there were part of the yuppie hipster scene, which i guess by a technicality i'm a part of to. But yeah really pretentious and i really wasn't into it. I've been going to this type of stuff since i was a kid and they never live up to the hype. And this one was more of the same. The presentation on the food was great but i took one bite and was pretty much like yeah lame never coming back waste of a hundred dollars. So it became sort of an issue with one of the waiters when the check came and he saw the uneaten plate, he wanted to know if i had a complaint. and i really didn't. My grandfatehr says never indulge in a scene with servers unless you hire them. So i didn't want to make a scene. So i ws like not really just didn't care for it. So  he goes and brings out the chef, who is pretty well know and he was like you want to try something else? And i'm like no i pretty much want to leave. So he says if i'm unsatisfied i can have a refund, and he says it with a bit if a sneer. and i'm like yeah i'm good, and he keeps making it an issue, and Emma's like take it and go. But this guy has underestimated me and the people i come from. So i tell him that yeah i'll take a refund and i'll also tell my good friend who owns the restaurant he's a good friend of my grandfathers. And he realizes i musst have some connection to someone because his demeanor changes and he tries to gloss over the issue and i'm like yeah no i'm good i'll just make it know how you treated the grandson of one of his oldest friends. And he goes out of his way to make ammends and it's lame at that point i get the whole thing refunded and the owner calls me and tells me that the situatuion with the chef will be handeled accordingly, as he and my grandfather go way back and he knows grandfather would never tolerate me or any member of his family being slighted. So i tell him it's cool and he tells us to eat at any of his  restaraunts or clubs and this big exposistion. But i was really mad after that, i hate public scenes but i can't be talked down to or condesecnded to it's not in my nature, and i hate having my family thrown into the mix, but yeah things magically work themselves out at  that point

So we go back to Emma's place and Kara's there with this guy and it's really funny. She's taking this approach now where she's going to try and fgo thru a few guys to make Fallon jealous in the attempt of winning him back. But he could care less. And there out in the open so we just dort of exchange a glance at each other that pretty much says this can't end well. We make small talk for a minute or two. We go into her bedroom and stay there the rest of the night.

The next morning i get a call from grandfatehr and he's talking about the chef and says that they'll get him blackballed if i want to and i'm like i don't care do what you want to. I go for a run really early about six a.m. and go home atake a shower and go to school. And it's just very weird now because i know it's over in a couple of weeks and theres no way i can fail, my grades have been impeccable so i'm just waiting for it all to be over so i can leave for summer. I

After school i meet with Kelly at the coffeee shop she works at and we talk about her upcoming birthyday, and i tell her i have something exciting planned for her. We talk a bit longer and i head to my motheres house for her monthsly dinner requirement.

I brought my sister a gift, a Nintendo DS. She really liked playing mines during the easter thing so i bought her her own, a pink one. She really it.  bought her Mario and something called Nintendogs which is really popular. My mother talked about my borthers impending farce of a marriage to his horrid fiancee'. And  i left a bit later.

I got back to my building and theres this really unbalanced woman who also lives there and she just starts talking to me for like 20 minutes about the government and cloning and otehr crazy stuff and i'm like ok. I get back in and it's raining pretty badly so i just go out to my balconyand watch it for awhile. I truly love the rain it's brilliant. And  i waited for Emma to get off and the rain to subside a bit and she came over and were making oragami things and watching some really funny thing on the Tyra Banks show, how we started watching it int he first place is beyond me, but hey....

My parents just bought a DS for my little brother for the Anniversary that's coming up. Hope your sister liked it. I really like that profile picture with the astronaunt.

Sounds like you had a couple of interesting days. Do you enjoy your dinners with your Mom? I've never been into the yuppie stuff, I'm the one you see in the corner making fun of them. I know one thing though, as with you, if the food sucks, I don't eat it. Too bad about the public display. And I'm a Playstation player myself. Nice of you to buy your sister a Nintendo, was it just because, or a special occasion?

Yeah the atronaut picture is from Brand New's second album Deja Entendu. She she liked it. i bought it for her on a whim. I figured she would like it so i was like why not.But yeah public spectacles suck, but not many people saw it, so i'm glad aabout that. And yeah i don't do the yuppie thing all that often but what can i do i'm fromw a wealthy family, so the uppercrust dining thing has always been something i've been exposed to.

The restaurant really sucked... I mean, I don't see why they need you to complain; I would see things like if the person doesn't say anything just don't broach the subject. I've never really been to trendy things... I like middle of the road with restaurant since those don't hurt my wallet too much. Anyway, when I go to a restaurant it's more for the conversation of the people I'm with than anything else.

You are lucky you have self control if I were in your position I would probably be punching out the chef already ok maybe not punching but maybe mouthing him off. Haha Tyra Banks.

It's too bad you have to act a certain way because of the 'family', with money and all that. What about being like Billy Madison? LOL

Yeah it's not so bad, i was just raised to have manners, and decorum. But it also affords me the ablility to do and go wherever i want. So it's an even trade off.
