I picked up my copy of Spore a couple of days ago, my boyfriend mainly wanted it but I sorta wanted to give it a try too. The controls are really easy and the game is pretty simple at first. You start off as a cell swimming around, trying to find food so that you can evolve, and also trying to survive against other bigger cells that want to eat you. This goes on for a while until you can finally evolve into a land creature. Once there you can explore the area and make friends or enemies with the other creatures. Then, once you've evolved enough you get to migrate! That's where I left off. I really enjoy games where you can have a say in the creative process, like when you can customize characters and such. The only thing that bugs me about this game is that you can't play with other people online. I think it would've been fun to plan invasions against other creatures with friends.
I also tried Warhammer Online. I was kind of bummed that I couldn't be an orc female. My only options were elf or human... boring. The interface and graphics remind me a lot of Lord of the Rings Online. I ran around the starting area and gathered quests. There wasn't a whole lot of talking going on, which was strange because there were so many players running around. I did some quests. My character didn't have a lot of clothes on so I tried getting some gear. The fighting is a bit slower than Warcraft, but apparently it's more of a PvP game. I don't think I'll be playing Warhammer Online or any other MMO until Knights of the Old Republic comes out or until Blizzard decides to make another one.
There are so many games coming out this year that I want to buy so badly! Yet I have a $4500 loan that is constantly haunting the back of mind. I'm also very disappointed about Infinite Undiscovery getting a bad review. I still haven't tried the game out myself but I thought that it looked good and I want to like it. Still, going back to my whole issue of not being able to buy games... it looks like I'm just going to have to dig into my cabinet of games, (many of which I haven't played entirely through), and try and find something amusing to play when I'm not playing Warcraft. By the way, I've leveled an entirely new character. I'm a 65 gnome warlock now and my name is Lolzdps ![]()
I did buy the new Harvest Moon game though. Farming in-between classes at school helps me deal with stress. I also started playing Final Fantasy X-2. I must have closure! I was actually kind of shocked when I watched the intro. What happened to Yuna, lol? The game is fun to play, and you get to go back to all the places from X, so it's very nostalgic. I also heard that this game has three endings, or something like that.
