Well, this is it. It's been 3 months in the writing but my first fiction story of any length is done and I must admit, I'm somewhat apprehensive about sharing it. However, nothing ventured...
Here is the 'teaser':
Xena's soul, stranded in the Japa underworld is about to be reincarnated into a new body by the Japa gods and is no longer aware of who she was. Gabrielle, returning to Greece, discovers one day, without warning, that her soul mate's spirit is no longer travelling with her and she is totally alone, but she has no way to find out what has happened. Recovering her memories Xena is enraged by how she has been manipulated and she also discovers the torment that Gabrielle is experiencing because of it. She must take on the Japa gods to 'persuade' them to send her back into the world so that she and Gabrielle can be reunited. But as usual, things don't always go according to plan...
Changing Places follows Xena and Gabrielle from the Japa underworld, through Greece into Japa and then back to the underworld on a roller-coaster emotional journey, meeting up with a few old friends along the way.
You may guess that it takes place some time after Friend in Need, the finale of the TV series.

If you do take a look and have a read, I would really appreciate any feedback. As it's my first story, but hopefully not my last, your comments will help me improve. Please return here to leave a comment or drop me an e-mail to the address included with the story, even if it's only to let me know that you read it and whether or not you enjoyed it.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Thanks so much for sharing!
I must confess that my hands are shaking writing this. I'm so excited to hear what people think about the story and they way I have written it.
I have asked members of my family to read it and let me know what they think, but unfortunately the Xena-style genre is not their cup of tea, so I'm not sure they have even looked at it. My son, who also writes a bit, is most of the way through it now and he has given me a lot of great feedback on the style, etc. but he is more into dark fantasy stories. So comments from yourselves are the first I have had from anyone who already loves and understands the Xenaverse.
On your point gabfan, I felt that Gabrielle had a dark side in her that showed itself when she got angry and that is something I wanted to explore. There'll be another taste of it later on

(I love the plot teaser, by the way, sounds like it is going to be right up my alley!)
