Aw, the picture of my cat didn't post. Oh well.

Next, I saw The Dark Knight. Not the best movie as eveyone seems to claim. Its good, and the best Batman film, prouble #1 or #2 for best superhero movie, but its still not the greatest. I really like Heth Ledgers preformence, as does everyone else. The plot (dont worry I wont spoil it, thats Wikipedia's job) is great and even though the movies longer than normal movies that made it a good thing. I liked it better than Batman Begins (I actually hated that)

PSYCHOSOCIAL! That means, well Im not sure. But its a Slipknot song and it rocks. Already mentioned this, but I ahve to mention it again because of its video. I watched the premire of the video on MTV last Friday and it was good, espically for a Slipknot video. The best part though wasn;t the video, it was after the video where it showed some Jonas Brother (d*mn them!) fans in the audience and they all seemed scared of Slipknot. Three members (Clown who's a percusanist, Jim Root who's one guitarist, and Corey Tayler who is the singer) introduced the video and talked about it. Well, Clown didn't. He just walked around with his big bat scaring people. Pretty cool, video is here:

Sorry if there's been spelling mistakes this blog, Im wearing a Halloween mask, trying to see what its like for Slipknot since they wear them 24/7. They actually dont, but if you know Slipknot you know what I mean.

Ok masks off, I lasted exactually 39 minutes.

We're gonna skip When Darkness Falls cause its going to come up later. Next, since Supernatural has already been renewed for 5 seasons and season 7 of King of the Hill's not going to be released on DVD, I need something else to try and save for summer. Im picking Metal. OBVIOUSALLY, its been seen less and less for awhile. (I think its because of Metallica, but dont tell my friend Bryan, thats his favorite band.) And I'm lying, its not Metallicas fault. Its rap. Now I know people on here that visit my blog prouble listen to rap, at least some of them, so I'll only express this once. And since Im about to complain about rap, your allowed to complain about Metal.

To me, it seems rap is something which takes no talent. The music is basically the same for every song, just a few beats and annoyingness, and all you have to do is be able to sing a little big, have some really *** name, and be able to rhym. Hmm. True metal may not be the hardest music to make, not sure what is, but at least for metal you need to make music sounds with guitars and drums. Some metal, that is just screaming does suck, but most rules. Im not getting off subject so from what I see anyone with or without talent could be a rapper, even white people. All it has seemed to do is enrage people with its stupid lyrics, cause even more gang wars, more drive by shootings (yeah you know the people Im talking about), and p*ss off even more people. I really wont complain to much cause I know there's controversy over bands like Slayer, but still. Come on! How in the hell does a untalanted **** like Lil' Wayne get a album 2x Platium in a month? Not that this is going to matter or anything my bus driver has a 8 year old son who rode our bus sometimes. He listened to rap. Dont be suprised or shocked all was fairly clean, I guess. I let him listen to some metal and as far as I know, he doesnt like rap anymore. Prouble because he heard real music. And it wasnt even real hard metal, it was Iron Maiden and Metallica. My bus driver thanked me because he hates rap. So anyone reading this, go listen to some real talent (I mean everyone, no matter what music you like). Or dont I dont really care and I dont want to push anyone.

Already have Psychosocial above, here's a few more:

If you have iTunes simply look the songs up on there and previw them. If not, here's some YouTube videos, some of these may be live:

Disturbed - Inside the Fire: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6gXhZXtMxu4

Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache (video sucks and the song is cut but this was all I could find in 30 seconds): http://youtube.com/watch?v=HKUrCLUWt48

Lamb of God - Walk With Me in Hell: http://youtube.com/watch?v=A106iVvMzlI&feature=user

Godsmack - I Stand Alone: http://youtube.com/watch?v=hyc2MuyUC5k

All for that whatever the hell you'd call it.

Next, as part of my "Listen to More Metal ****nuts" and yes Im calling it that, mainly because it cant be called "Eat battery acid ****NUTS" from Stephen King's IT and because I can, Im going to start profiling bands with each blog. Prouble only one or two each blog, including a little history, their albums, my favorite songs by them, their website, etc. Of course Im going to start with Disturbed.

"Disturbed"

Active since 1996 as "Brawl", 1999 as "Disturbed"

Current Members:

David Draiman (vocals)

Dan Donegan (guitar)

Mike Wengren (drums)

John Moyer (bass)

Genre: Techinally Nu' Metal, Alternative Metal, Hard Rock but I just say Metal cause I dont care.

History: First started under the name "Brawl." But when Dan, Mike, and former bassist Steve Kmak got David as the singer they changed to Disturbed. The band currently has four studio albums, the last three have placed #1 on the Billboard 200, and they are only one of seven bands (and one of six consecutivly) to do that. Right now they are headlining a tour with Slipknot.

Albums: The Sickness (2000), Believe (2002), Ten Thousand Fists (2005), indestructible (200

Album Quick Review:

The Sickness, their first album is obviousally much heavier than their other three. The tracks are harder and more upbeat. Not completelly sure if it makes sense but its a good album overall, but my least favorite by them. Favorite songs from it "Down With the Sickness" "Stupify" and "Want." Its still worth the money. Overall: 7/10

Believe, their second album, better than Sickness and is great overall. Also had their first video banned on MTV (Prayer). The album, like the other two after it, includes more melodies and less "vulgarities" and works great together. Favorite songs "Prayer", "Liberate", "Awaken" Still, with this album they didnt hit their best. My 2nd least favorite OR 3rd favorite by them. Overall 8/10

Ten Thousand Fists, is where they became awesome. Almost every song is pure gold. The album may be political themed (such as Deify and Avarice) but it still kicks majoy ***. This has even more melodies and is their first "clean" album, but it proves their best. Favorite songs "Deify" "Stricken" and "Just Stop" My favorite album by them. If you haven't heard Disturbed, listen to one from this album first. 10/10

Indestructible, a little bit down from TTF. When I first listened i wasn't to impressed, but after a few times it proved its great. Their second best album. Kind of a mixture of The Sickness with its darker tone but still includes stuff from Believe and TTF. The songs all seem to be centered around dark stuff and Draiman (such as suicide or a girl cheating on Draiman) It was released on June 3, and is now certified Gold, which is good for a Metal album these days. Im expecting Platium soon. Best songs "The Night", "Enough" and "Facade." Nearly a perfect score, but not quite. 9/10.

Top 10 Songs Total:

10. Deumanized (Techinally from Believe, but is on Music as a Weapon II, a live CD/DVD)

9. Darkness (Believe)

8. Voices (The Sickness)

7. Just Stop (TTF)

6. Mistress (Believe)

5. Deify (TTF)

4. Stricken (TTF)

3. The Night (Indestructible)

2. Down With the Sickness (The Sickness)

1. Enough (Indestructible)

Haven't heard Disturbed you should. Great band, my favorite, can't wait to see them again August 1.

Oh ****, that was longer than I thought it'd be, no way in hell Im doing Metallica unless I split it up into two or three parts.

Next review is on Killswitch Engage (thats where When Darkness Falls should have been) but Im tired of typing now.

Well after a **** load of work my band has 6 full songs ready to preform in a day. Or is it two days? I forgot what today is. Anyways, we had a goal of 10 and prouble could have gotten around 8, but lowering it is better because now we've had time to practice the 6. No need mentioning what they are cause their all below in my past three blogs or so. But to sum things up, I'll actually be on more starting around Sunday or Monday.

Kerrang! released a CD yesterday which came free with their magazine. I didnt get it, but I got the whole CD off Limewire. The CD is "Maiden Heaven: A Tribute to Iron Maiden" and is basically what it sounds like it is. 15 bands covered 15 Iron Maiden songs. There were 7 bands that I really wanted to get, just because I like them and the remaining 8 I got just to complete the album. I was actually impressed with it, compared to the Metallica tribute album. The songs covered and by who are below and the ones with a * after them are the 7 I really wanted. And all the blue is Wikipedia hyperlinks to the songs/ bands.

1. "Prowler" (Black Tide) *

2. "Remember Tomorrow" (Metallica) *

3. "Flash of the Blade" (Avenged Sevenfold) *

4. "2 Minutes to Midnight" (Glamour Of The Kill)

5. "The Trooper" (Coheed and Cambria)

6. "Wasted Years" (Devildriver) *

7. "Run to the Hills" (Sign)

8. "To Tame a Land" (Dream Theater) *

9. "Caught Somewhere in Time" (Madina Lake)

10. "Wrathchild" (Gallows)

11. "Fear of the Dark" (Fightstar)

12. "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (Machine Head) *

13. "Iron Maiden" (Trivium) *

14. "Running Free" (Year Long Disaster)

15. "Brave New World" (Ghostlines)

Maiden Heaven: A Tribute to Iron Maiden cover

The two Im most impressed with are the two by Black Tide and A7X. Black Tide simply because Im impressed with the whole band for sounding how they are and being so you (their all between 15-22) and A7X (my bad, thats Avenged Sevenfold) because their sound is so different than Maiden's, but they still made a good song. Plus I really love Flash of the Blade.

Overall its a good album and if you like any of the bands, all the songs are good. It's gonna be hard to find thow unless you have Limewire or got the Kerrang! issue.

December 12, 2012. According to The X-Files, thats the alien invasion. Im bringing this up simply because The X Files: I Want to Believe comes out in theaters next Friday. Sadly I dont have great hopes. Mostly because the last two seasons of the show were just horrible. But the movie includes the NORMAL cast and doesnt deal with the alien **** so it will hopefully be good. Not to mention I'm deffiently seeing it anyways. Plus if it does well, they may make a third movie which would deal with the alien invasion on 12/12/12.

Guess thats all for right now, be back sometime soon.

Monk and Psych season premires tomorrow and the premire of Slipknot's new music video "Psychosocial" appears on FNMTV Premires. All this starts at 8:00 PM

My Psychosocial song on YouTube is over 100,000 views! Actually I think its more like 110,000, but oh well.

Oh almost forgot, Metallica released the Death Magnetic cover. Its ok, but all that really matters is the album.

Death Magnetic cover

One last thing, not sure when it will come out by Disturbed's making a music video for Indestructible!

Friday, Jul 11, 2008

Well, after a very very long night I finished the guitar part for five of the ten songs we need. For some reason I also wrote lyrics to to more songs (Revenge and Unholy) We still have 8 more days and have 5 more songs to write, but as I said we may only do 6 or so. As of right now here's (I believe) is where we all stand with our parts.

1. Damnation: Lyrics, Guitar, Bass, Backup Guitar, Drums All Done

2. Hellbound: Lyrics, Guitar, Bass, Backup Guitar, Drums All Done

3. Glass Cow: Lyrics, Guitar, Bass, Drums Done (no Backup Guitar in the song)

4. My Darkness: Lyrics, Guitar, Drums Done

5. Demons: Lyrics, Guitar

Not completelly sure how far everyone else is on songs 4-10. Oh well, 8 days left. If we only fit in 6 songs the 6th will be My Time of Need.

*The following review on Slipknot's album "Vol. 3: The Subliminal Versus" is more about Metal than the album itself*

Apparently, by reading the comments for the Psychosocial song on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo31WosxeTs

Im the only person who liked Slipknot's last album "Vol. 3: The Subliminal Versus" Not sure who here has heard it, but I think it was a step up from their other two albums "Slipknot" and "Iowa." The first two seemed like %90 were the unoriginal screaming annoyingness people claim all Metal is. Vol 3, takes a different approach and included something called "melodies" The album also includes less screaming lyrics, which is ok. Their screaming is great, but if you compare a song like (sic) from their first album "Slipknot" and then Duality from Vol. 3, I'd pick Duality. Choosing between two bands, lets say Hatebreed, which is good, but is only screaming and growling or Killswitch Engage which is a mixture of singing growling and screaming, I'd pick Killswitch. Thats one of the main reasons I like Disturbed more than any other band. They have melodicness in their songs. Not just someone banging on drums, someone screaming stupid stuff, and then a guitar doing a simple up and down rhythm. I guess thats one reason Metal's less popular than it should be is everyone assumes its all the same stuff. Well its not! Oh ****, completely off topic.

Well, the albums great, better than their first two. It includes stuff for everyone, And I dont mean everyone. It kinda excludes people who like Rap, Country, Hip Hop, Opera, R&B, Gothic ****, Punk, and anything besides Rock, Hard Rock, or Metal.

Oh and for Guitar Hero fans, Before I Forget, its from Vol. 3. So yeah.
