Good morning to you. I'm just about conscious though the hay fever season is well and truly upon me. I'd been feeling pretty bad for a few days but have only just really cottoned on as to what it was. It's been pretty warm recently too so the pollen count has gone into overdrive. The hall was warm at my son's school yesterday afternoon as well. His year (Year 3) joined forces with Year 6 to produce a very moving half hour on heroes, which culminated in some beautiful singing and some very poignant slides of military heroes. He was a football hero during the performance, kicking a football across to his mate. Regular readers of this blog may well remember that he's a cricketer but he's just taken up football (i.e. soccer) and is now talking about starting rugby in the autumn.

Talking of cricket, the Under 9s comprehensively thrashed their opponents in the local cup last night, which means they are now in the quarterfinals. As they lost in the 3rd round last year they are very happy! Let's hope they can go all the way. As his dad is away in Croatia at the moment, I had to keep texting highlights to him throughout the game, which really amused some friends of mine sitting next to me! He got his highest ever batting scores last night (7 off his first 2 overs including a 6 and 24 off the second 2, including 3 6s and NOT OUT for both innings! And he took a wicket. Next match is a league game on Saturday morning against their closest rivals. Both clubs are in the same small town so most of the boys go to school together from both teams and this particular fixture is always a grudge match.

As for TV, I watched the live nominations for Big Brother last night and as it was against the clock it meant they really cut out the drivel and got straight to the point for once. The nominees were not a great surprise. Halfwit, the really annoying posh boy got nominated yet again (that's all 3 weeks so far - yet he's survived the previous 2) and Angel the wacky Russian who likes skinny dipping and telling her fellow housemates they're fat- guaranteed to get you nominated that one). In the highlights show I loved the fact that they failed absolutely everything in the Tudor task - useless or what?

On TV.com I got sidetracked by other things so GMTV Today didn't get much done to it over the last 2 days but it is getting there slowly. Submitting the daft things that the housemates on Big Brother have been saying has kept me busy instead I'm hoping to watch a bit of Wimbledon too though I haven't had a chance to see much of it so far this year.

Hello Helen I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling sick, hope you get better in no time. The levels of pollen here are insane as well, but luckily I am not allergic. Cricket, football and rugby? You've got quite a sports star there! Go the Under 9s, so good they are passing rounds. I really hope they beat their closest rival, sounds like a super tension filled game indeed. Have a nice day. Hugs

boom-moo: Thanks boom-moo! The antihistamine tablets are kicking in now so I'm feeling somewhat better. Yes, Saturday's game is likely to be edgeof the seat stuff as the teams are both pretty good and it's a local derby too.

Hey, Hellen! I'm sorry about your allergy. Unfortunately, I have the same problem. It starts at the end of May and it goes on for 2 months. Be strong! Have a nice one!

Thank goodness for antihistamine, right? My older boy has hay fever problem too. It hasn't been too bad where we live, thankfully. Feel better. Go under 9's! I'm not going to pretend I understand the scoring system, cause I don't. I'll google it sometime. Quite the lil athlete, you must be proud. Hope you gt to enjoy Wimbledon. And I hope your husband gets to have some fun whgile in Croatia, you know what they say, all work and no play.....

Sounds like the cricket team is doing great! Glad to hear it. It's been really hot and muggy where I am. Humid and temps in the 100's. Hope that your allergies will subside. They get to me whenever I have to go out and mow the yard.

Mr_Fujiv1: Thanks and yes I enjoy quite a few sports (as a spectator). I hated PE lessons at school though, our PE teachers were way too fierce and scary.

buffyangel4evr_: Thanks for your wishes, I'll pass them on. I never learnt to play cricket but have picked up the scoring just from watching it. I don't suppose it's much more difficult to pick up than any other game. Having said that, I haven't a clue what's going on in american football or ice hockey. Or baseball come to that. Mainly because I haven't seem much of any of them I suppose.

Water78: Thanks, Patrick.

stitch069917: I hate heat and humidity too. And I agree, mowing grass makes things a lot worse for me. It doesn't help that it's such a boring chore either.

I watched the nominations and thought they were really funny. Like Sree- "My first nomination is syvah." Sevash I thought it was hilarious that they all failed but were all still happy. Hope Angel leaves!!! But Halfwit is just as annyoning. I got into the house late, do you know why he is called Halfwit instead of Freddie and the blond one Dogface instead of her name?
Hope you get to watch your Wimbledon ! I just did
Have a good week!

Cricket... thats some wacky scoring but you probably feel the same way about Baseball but congrats to the under 9's. And feel better, this time of year is the worst for, especially for allergy sufferers. Later .

charmed1102: During the first few days when all the non-housemates were taking part in challenges to become housemates, Freddie and Sophie were challenged to change their names by deed poll to Halfwit and Dogface respectively. As I understand i, the doocuments they signed were real and legally binding and those are now their legal names unless they change them back with another deed poll!

CF3689, LadyInque and sarahsaurus: Thanks for your kind words. Things usually improve after July.

MarWash: Funny you should say thatabout scoring in baseball etc. I really don't have a clue what's going on in games like baseball, american football and so on though if I watched some games with someone knowledgeable on the games I could possibly get the hang of them. Who knows? I certainly never had the opportunity to play cricket, football or rugby when I was at school - girls just didn't then though that's not so much the case now - but I've learnt to appreciate them all since. The one game we played at school that I did like was tennis and it's still one of my favourite games to watch now.

Aw Helen hayfever is sucky, I'm glad your son is doing well in his matches. I banned myself from BB this year, I'm glad. I don't think I could be dealing with people called Halfwit.

The cricket match sounded fun, I didn't really understand a lot of what was going on though. Hope you have a great time watching Wimbledon.

Hayfever is awful - I fully sympathise. I get a bad rash and spent many amazing summer days in my youth in oatmeal baths - not an experience I'd wish on anyone. I've been vaguely following Big Brother and as far as I can tell I'm not a huge fan of anyone this season. Hope you are getting better!
