So gaming violence is a hot topic now and tomorow however i have seen few "violent" games that managed to get a reaction out of me as you would expect with seeing a mutilated corpse or whatever in that categorie.

With so many people yelling videogame violence is out of control how bad can it really be?
If anything i would say videogame violence is at an all time low,

Just take a look at this screen.

Now you might say "oh but i can do that in GTA aswell" but really in the new games where is the effect of your actions? there is no blood to blind your windshield, no terifying screams hell after you are done killing 15 seconds later everything just resets as if nothing hapened everyone continues on theyr merry way. I cant see any gore in that its just messing around with game mechanics.

Do realise that the screenshot above is from a PC game released in 1994, yes 12 years ago i can imagine some of the people reading this werent even born by that time.

o how i miss the good 'ol PC gaming days...Now we can act out the actions of stabbing people to death!!!! YAY! (wiimote, manhunt 2, very yes) you do bring a good point though that violence and gore in video games has been around for quite a while.

Games are going to keep getting castrated and sanitized and watered down until games stand up to the Console makers and demand that they allow AO rated games to be made for their system. Until developers are free to make games with blood and guts and porn in them then we will have to accept the censorship.

Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft are the reason why we dont have those kinds of games around anymore but its the consumers fault that we allow them to do it.

Well, I don't see why we should be necessarily disappointed that there aren't more violent games out there. I mean, level of violence and gore shouldn't make a game. It may add something to a game, but if the same sucks, it's going to suck with out it. And if a game is really good, it should be able to stand on it's own without it.
I'm not against the gore, I'm just saying I'm not upset that there isn't more of it.
And yes, people have been complaining about violence in games for as long as there's been violence in games. Nothing changes. It's a platform that will have supporters, so people preach from it. So what. Let them talk. It hasn't really made a terrible impact on the market these past 20 years anyway. There's still games with shooting, killing, and violent acts.

Sorry I'm so late on the comments, but I just found your blog. You should get back into making posts
