Greetings, Everyone! Hope everyone's weekend was relaxing. I plan on keeping this a short and sweet blog entry, but a pretty neat one nonetheless. First, I thought I'd share some pics of when my church decided to put on a Tri-Parish Picnic a few weeks ago. Usually they only put on an annual picnic for themselvels, but this year one of the parishoners here decided to ask my church's preist to invite Archbishop Dolan to the festivites. When he promptly accepted, it was decided to share the good fortune with the surrounding areas. Below are some pics, plus a few links to the news articles about the day. I had an amazing and relaxing time.

signFor security reasons, the picnic was held at San Sliverio Shrine, which is a very lovely place.

fountain A nice fountain out in front.

stand Throughout the whole event Italian music, rock and roll music, and Irish music was played! Which was awesome, since I love all those kinds of music.

archbishop dolan A pic of the Archbishop of NY!

the archbishop and me My favorite pic of the whole day!!!!!!! Not only getting to shake his hand, but to get a pic with him too was awesome.

ARTICLE

Wow.... I've been away so long that I've almost forgot how to format my links. Scary.... Anyways, there's a neat article with some pics and a vid to go with it. Just click on the link.

Before I go, I had a few requests for some pics of my new cousin. Well, here they are. Cell phone cam quality must suffice for the time being I'm afraid.

joey 1 My pal Joey.

joey 2 A Yankees AND and Eagles fan.

Hope everyone enjoyed reading!!! And thanks for all your lovely well wishes for my great aunt in my previous blog. Later!

Hi Gabriella! I love the pictures. That is such a pretty fountain! It looks a little bare and it looks like it needs a few flowers surrounding it. Still pretty, nonetheless. Aww, you got a picture with him! Lucky you! Your cousin is sooooooooo cute. I love the first picture because his expression looks like he's saying, "Go away, I don't want my picture taken."

Gabi, thanks for sharing those photos...Joey is precious. I don't think it's fair to a young defenseless child to put him in an Eagles jersey, though -- isn't that corrupting minors? (I just had Carolina in a Steelers cap this evening...neither of those two did well tonight)

Congrats on meeting the archbishop! Pal Joey, eh? The music sounds like fun and I love that fountain!

Wow the Archbishop is a young guy - I figured that this couldn't be him because all the Archbishops I have ever met have been old farts in pointy hats. He looks friendly! And you even got your picture taken with him!!! Cousin Joey looks cute (even if in the top one he looks a little irritated). Thanks for sharing!

Pika: Aw, thanks! I think he's pretty cute too.
Anne:Lol, I had a feeling you'd like the pic. Yep, quite a fun time.
Ivy: You're right! Flowers + Fountains = Major Prettiness. Lol, he does seem to be thinking that!

Millerem: Lol, or setting him up for some major disappointments. His sister has a Giants jersey though... Aw, that must be SO cute on her! You should take some pics of that. How's she doing, btw?
Al: I think you're the only one who got the reference! The music was super great!
Caroline: He's young in apperance AND enthusiasm! A definite opposite of our last bishop. He's exremely friendly and has a great sense of humor.

Thar's really sweet! It's nice to hear that you had such a good time at the picnic and congrats on you new cousin!

As for Joey, we'll let the Yankees thing slide - FOR NOW - because he's got an Eagles jersey on. I agree with EM99 that it falls under the category of corrupting minors, but the archbishop is wearing a Yankees cap? I mean, what kind of an example and message is that??? Talk about abomination of desolation standing in high places where it ought not.

Karl: Thank you. The Archbishop DID say that he lit a candle for the Mets. I guess he DOES have to forgive all sinners.

It didn't help! That's true, we all have our flaws, don't we?
