Happy Fourth of July
I want to wish every body a Happy 4th of July. This is the time to celebrate our independence from England with many fireworks to light up the sky. What are your plans for this cool holiday? I am just hanging out with my friends and watching the Macy's fireworks on TV. Every year they play different songs with the fire works and "God Bless America" and "Star Spangled Banner" always play. If you could pick one song that best represents America that is new what would it be? I think Neil Diamonds song "Coming to America" is cool and should be incorporated into it. What do you guys thing about that? 
HCB Concert
My friend invited me to a cool concert in the park sponsored by the Huntington Community Band and it was called "Around the World: Celebrate America!" It was great and I finally saw my friend play the horn. It was at the Heckscher Park in Huntington, NY. There were a lot of people there and it was great to see how many people support the band. They played many different songs from marching bands to Eighties Flashback which I knew most of the songs. 
I had a lot of fun and I would love to see them perform again and I will try to go to the July 30th one called "It's a Small World". It sounds like it is going to be a great one. 
I found out that everybody that plays in the band do it for fun or for practice, they don't get paid and they all denote their time for the love of music. Several of the performers also have paying gags, are teachers or professional musicals as well. Men and women of all ages perform there. It is a great sight to see how great they sound when they play their instruments. Can you tell I had a fantastic time there? 
Happy Birthday Shazz
I would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Shazz wish is not until July 10th. I probably won't do another blog so I thought I would mention it now. She is a terrific friend and as I have gotten to known her, I learned that she is a very caring and special person who doesn't like to see animals tortured or killed for no reason. She has many pets and she would rescue any animal that would need it. Only a beautiful person would do that for no particular reason because it needs a home and for someone to care for them. I am very happy to call her a friend. 
Her health may not be that great and some times she may want to crawl back into bed and wish the world away but her spirit and strength is always strong. She is very friendly to new members and sometimes tries to be mean when it just comes out cute. Always offering hugs to everyone no matter what is going on with her. Shazz is very supportive and always listen to you and give you a supportive ear. To give complete stranger money just because they need it tells so much about a person. So have a great day and have many more happy ones.

That sounds like a lot of fun and I'm not doing anything because I'm Canadian. Canada Day was 3 days ago. That concert sounded like loads of fun. Have you ever thought about joining the band?Happy birthday Shazz.
Birthdays are cool and you can wish me a HB on Dec. 26. And yes I know it is the day after Christmas but many people forget my birthday and just give me a Christmas present.

.Didn't work on the banner last night, I was so tired I went to sleep at 8:30 again
(all that JB obsessing takes a toll...) so I'll try to do it today before DW is available (after that, I won't be interested in working on a banner ). I have to go to the vet this morning (not for me ) and then I think I'll sleep some more (I had a sinus infection this week so I think it's responsible for all that sleeping, not JB).Be good. The concert sounds like fun. We have a orchestra here that does the same thing. They do a different concert in the park for 8 weeks every summer, each week with a different theme. One week may be Disney songs and the next famous show tunes. They don't get paid and range in age from high schoolers to senior citizens. They do a wonderful show and we really look forward to it.

It was. This is great. I think HCB does the same with different concerts during the summer. I am glad to see free concerts are in other places for everybody to enjoy. Do you know anybody in the band or you just go to support them?

Excellent about the concert... I love going to do things like that... Hope you had super fireworks... we were out in the California Delta for a big yearly show the Hilton's put on in Mandeville... It was spectacular
Glad you enjoyed your 4th. I just spent some time with the family and enjoyed the fireworks. The concert sounds cool. I have a friend that plays in a band and try to support him as much as I can! Super birthday wishes to a wonderful person! Happy Birthday Shazz!

It was a lot of fun. I am glad. I did. Macy's always brings the best fireworks display every year. Sounds like fun. How long was it? It is about 30 to 40 minutes for us.
