Here's a quick update on the gaming front.
SPLATTERHOUSE
On a whim I started to play usagi704's TG-16 and finally beat the game with his assistance on the final boss. A day later I was able to beat the game without help and without continuing! This puts the number of games finished for 2009 at 43!
Now hopefully I won't have to wait as long to get through Splatterhouse 2.
I was at a loss for the next big game to play. Usagi mentioned that he was going to play Infamous so I figured I would too.
INFAMOUS
The first thing that I noticed with the controls is that the right stick for camera control is much quicker on the default setting than any other game I've played to date. It's not a problem as you get used to it very quickly. It's just something that I noticed right away.
Currently I'm 50% completed with the game with the rank of Hero. Other stats include the following.
40 Powers/Upgrades
59 of 84 Districts
22 of 32 Dead Drops
76 of 350 Blast Shards
12 of 21 Stunts
There's some cool powers within the game. They usually resemble guns from other games like a sniper rifle, rocket launcher, grenades, etc.
Something that the game doesn't really tell you is that draining electricity not only refills your power cores (works like ammo), but it can also help heal faster instead of waiting for it to recharge on its own.
I also found it helpful to shoot drained power boxes to refill them so that you can in turn reuse them right away.
Thanks for stopping by!

You know I realized that healing trick as well during my first playthrough and thought the same thing. But on my second playthrough, I noticed that there was some dialog close to the beginning (I think with Zeke) that lets you know that. It's kind of subtle, they don't come right out and say it, but it is there. However, it should have been stated better, as it's kind of an important gameplay element, in my opinion.

Cool. Infamous does sound like a fun game.

Splatterhouse is awesome!!! And I am thinking of getting Infamous...when the price drops!!!!

Infamous is a little overrated, but still a great game. I'm curious as to what the hero ending is, I went the opposite route.

So, I take it you are enjoying your time with Infamous since you're halfway through already?

Whoa! You've made some good progress with Infamous. From the little that I've played on the demo, that's one game I do hope to get someday.
I'll have to see about the camera being quick when moving if I come across the demo again. That's something to come in real handy.

I wish I could go through games this quickly.

@duncanr2n: Now that you mention it, I do remember it. It does need to be better stated in a possible sequel. Usagi704 started the game within the last few days and I told him about it so that he wouldn't have to learn the hard way.
@ebbderelict: It certainly is, though I'll gladly play a linear game after this crazy open world madness.
@WTA2k5: With its release back in May, I don't hear anybody talk about the game anymore. It's not overrated from the lack of praise that I've noticed.
I'm going to play it twice to get both endings, but I doubt that the story varies much.
@NeonNinja: You bet!
@SonicHomeboy: I remember disliking the demo because of how you were thrown into a difficult part of the game. I remember VixDiesel assuring me that the full game started out slower. I figured as much and, of course, glad that it did.
@DrCLos: Interestingly enough I don't feel that I'm going out of my way to rush through these games. I think that I'm pretty slow. Infamous is probably a bad example of that.

@hart704: Yeah, I thought it was unfair to have to start off like that in the demo.

Infamous was hyped as a pretty huge PS3 exclusive but I've just never really been interested in it for some reason. Nice to hear you're enjoying it though.
