Upon purchasing Uncharted 2, I finally popped in its prequel to play for the first time. The reason I was hesitant before was because of the frustration I remember having with the combat when I tried the demo all those many moons ago. If it wasn't for madtyger hooking me up with the extra copy that she had, I probably wouldn't even have had it in the first place.

Throwing grenades became less and less of a problem as I played through the game. Little did I know that the monsters you come across late in the game were the real problems. They were highly annoying in the power generator room.

Earlier today I found all the rest of the 60 treasures that I was missing after beating the game yesterday. My total playtime was 11 hours and 39 minutes. That's what I call one satisfying game. Recommended even if you've played the sequel. 4/5



Another game that I beat soon after finishing Uncharted was Sengoku via SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 on the PSP. This game brought my total number of finished games for 2009 to 42!

Unlike Uncharted I don't recommend Sengoku to anyone. It's not a good beat-'em-up at all. At least it was doable unlike the other game that I was playing on that compilation, Magician Lord.

For some reason I noticed that a bunch of people like to think that Magician Lord is a classic SNK game. Yeah, I guess that can be the case if you like your classics to be utter crap. This game isn't worth your time to look in its general direction let alone actually playing it.

There's this moving platform section in this cloud area at the beginning of the stage in this video. I can see that if your attacks are powered up, then it's a lot easier, but I wasn't able to have that luxury. The reason being that every hit you take depletes attack power.

I kind of like making these gaming updates more often now than I usually do at the end of the month. I guess my Now Playing blogs will be taking a back seat for the first time since I started them which I think was 2006.
