iTunes didn't mix well with Windows 7 once I changed some visual settings. It isn't a major issue. Simply plugging in my iPod does turn on iTunes now. I read some boards on this and a lot of people are making it out to be the end of the world: "Oh no! I have to click twice on an icon now!" Also, I had to deauthorize and authorize the computer again after some settings changes. Still, this doesn't seem like a major problem. I get the impression that the next update of iTunes will overcome these issues. Also, Oblivion seems slightly more unstable than before. That's hard to measure though. Don't really know if it's Windows, a corrupted file, the result of playing an Elder Scrolls game for a few more hours, or the mods I am currently using.

Noticed something nice though. By default, Windows asks before installing updates. It's like having a brutal blood-thirsty dictator who always wears soft fuzzy gloves. I noticed something else too. Windows now seems to come with Windows anytime upgrade which is mentioned in a number of places. Evidently, they really want me to upgrade to the very best Windows available. I don't really know what that means however. Finally, I still haven't even seen anything referencing IE, which I am just fine with. Perhaps M$ has come to accept that IE will never, ever go anywhere.

It's the Europeans that did the IE stuff; thank them for me while you're over there.

You knew something had to go south at some point... for me I've been getting irritated with Messenger repeatedly trying to install itself. I don't use it, I don't want it, so why does it keep insisting I have it running? Go away already... pain in the butt.

Still, with one minor issue, and something nice, that's a whole lot better in Vista.

There was nothing nice about Vista.

(allegedly).

Do you like Windows 7 more than Windows XP?

@Garrison_Ford, that's a tricky question. XP has some definite internal issues which I don't know yet whether they were resolved. On the other hand, viruses written in the XP days have a harder time with 7. People complained about this but a nice feature of both Vista and 7 is that the operating system asks you first before installing anything. Sure I have to put up with a warning box that pops up, but at the same time, I'd rather viruses and spyware not be free to self install without me knowing. 7 is prettier than XP, but I don't think that says too much. The biggest biggest benefit is that 7 has much better 64-bit support and makes better use of dual and quad core proccessors. Since that is where the technology is going, it seems inevitable that operating systems will change.

Yeah, I had the authorizing problem too. It's not that big of a deal.
