I'm playing the Witcher. The game took a day and a half to download all fourteen gigs. The game so far is, disconcerting. I'm having trouble placing it. Really, it makes me want a console controller.

Another note. I've discovered that stores in Germany shut down every time the wind changes. I am all for saying people should get days off on a regular basis. Heck, I hate working weekends. On the other hand, I think we can still stagger when people show up so stores could stay open...

Oh snap, they cancelled it? There goes any chance of me ever playing it.

Fourteen gigs? Yarg, thats a hell of a download. Sometimes I laugh at the reasons some places close down. It always seems that some places close for almost no reason in your mind, but it makes perfect sence when you live there you're entire life. I've visited a couple of cities in the US that you though it was the end of times when you saw a single snowflake. Where I live, we don't blink an eye when gasoline freezes.

The restaurants close almost as much, too!

I thought you could just plug in a wired 360 controller into your computer and use it in nearly every game from the past five years. Is that an option for you?

@Aberinkulas, I don't know. I've seen "360 controllers" for computers for sale, but I haven't explored the options.

There are some controllers that come with a little application you can use to bind keys to the buttons, mine is a cheapy Saitek P3200 ($10 on ncix!) but honestly, you'll get used to the Witcher controls soon enough, and you'll find yourself thankful that you are controller free!

@floristandbicyc, well, I'll keep at it with the ole' keyboard and mouse. It just feels like an action game needing a console controller...
