I had just hopped onto the Forums when it happened. I got a pop up saying my internet connection was low and might not function properly. Then I got the supreme message: "Windows Is Shutting Down to Prevent Damage." Then it shut down!!!!! When I tried to turn it on again, it just keeps giving a message : "Media Test Failure, Check Cable" What cable? What media? AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGG!

I am so sorry. Not a good Thanksgiving gift.

I'm sorry for you, Grace. I hope you'll be able to reboot it. This is why I am a Mac person. I do have an antivirus and firewall, but Macs are overall less vulnerable to this sort of meltdown. At least I hope!

Oh, that is not cool. I hate it when computers do that (since I'm not too familiar with the tech side of it).

Sorry to hear that. It might be nothing. Sometimes my computer scares me. Lats weekend I lost some things but nothing too important. I hope your computer is fixable.

Try to disconnect everything but the monitor mouse and keyboard and see if it boots up. Sometimes peripheral goes bad, and when it tries to load it screws up.
Also, try to boot up in "safe" mode (because it doesn't load a lot of the fancy doo-dads.

Too bad about the computer... I'm a complete computer idiot, so I can't offer any help, only sympathy!
