The magic happened when I was reviewing the film Serenity, a film that sat comfortably, once, in my pantheon of favourite movies.

But no longer.

Though the film is generally considered a success amongst many Firefly fans (for it was the fans that fought for their favourite TV show to be reborn), I consider it one of the most blatant examples of a creator attempting to put an end to a story's continuation.

After the film does away with some of the characters that made the show for some people, the legacy that was left behind successfully mocks the property's fans by sticking to the past with prequel comics of the lowest quality.

Until the writers find a way to make the property entertaining again, mainly by focusing on the film's aftermath, then I do believe that Firefly and Serenity are as dead as a hundred squirrel/pigeon road-kills.
