So I don't know how many of you have watched it, but "Army Wives" is probably one of the best shows on television at the moment.
My uncle and aunt are both soldiers, and though I only see them occasionally, I know how hard it is for their son to watch them deploy and not know when or if they are coming home.
Through "Army Wives" we follow four women and one man-Claudia Joy, Denise, Pamela, Roxy, and Roland-as they support their spouses in the Army. I have been watching the first season on DVD and though I have watched them all now, the episode that really got to me is the third one, The Art of Separation. It really shows how these women and men truly support each other when they feel alone. They are all bonded by having someone they love gone, and though vastly different, all of them lean on the others for support during times of trouble. When problems arise, you see how each of them take it personally, even if it doesn't directly affect their lives or their children's lives, but affects the life of a friend.
It's a great show, and I hope more people start to watch it. One, because I want ratings to be good enough so the series continues for a long long time. But more importantly, because this show brings forth a new sense of pride and understanding from me, and i'm sure other people. We all see the soldiers who defend this country and we support them to the best of our abilities. But we don't quite see that their families are also fighting the war; and are fighting just as hard a battle. Keep our troops, and their families, in your thoughts. And watch "Army Wives".
Sorry about the rant. I tend to run a little passionate about things lol.
