First, let me start off by saying that I am a girly girl. I have no issue admitting the fact. I love romantic comedies and I love getting dressed up just for a night on the town.
Now, that being said, I have to gush about Momma Mia! I went to see it with my sister (we had grown up listening to ABBA with our mother) and both of us immediately fell in love. Within the first five minutes, she and I were looknig at each other saying "we have to get this as soon as it comes out!"
I did not know that Amanda Seyfried could sing that well! I was completely amazed. And Meryl Streep is an incredible actress anyways, and I loved her character. Plus, I LOVE listening to ABBA songs, so all in all there wasn't anything wrong with this film for me. It had humor (lots), tons of singing (I'm a big musicals person) and romance. What more could a girly girl ask for??
Okay, there is my gush. Momma Mia completely made my weekend. I hope everyone walks out of that theater feeling as happy as I did.
So I don't know how many of you have watched it, but "Army Wives" is probably one of the best shows on television at the moment.
My uncle and aunt are both soldiers, and though I only see them occasionally, I know how hard it is for their son to watch them deploy and not know when or if they are coming home.
Through "Army Wives" we follow four women and one man-Claudia Joy, Denise, Pamela, Roxy, and Roland-as they support their spouses in the Army. I have been watching the first season on DVD and though I have watched them all now, the episode that really got to me is the third one, The Art of Separation. It really shows how these women and men truly support each other when they feel alone. They are all bonded by having someone they love gone, and though vastly different, all of them lean on the others for support during times of trouble. When problems arise, you see how each of them take it personally, even if it doesn't directly affect their lives or their children's lives, but affects the life of a friend.
It's a great show, and I hope more people start to watch it. One, because I want ratings to be good enough so the series continues for a long long time. But more importantly, because this show brings forth a new sense of pride and understanding from me, and i'm sure other people. We all see the soldiers who defend this country and we support them to the best of our abilities. But we don't quite see that their families are also fighting the war; and are fighting just as hard a battle. Keep our troops, and their families, in your thoughts. And watch "Army Wives".
Sorry about the rant. I tend to run a little passionate about things lol.
I can honestly say I never really had a problem with school. It was always okay. I could handle it. In fact, if i do say so myself, I was rather good at it.
College, however, is a totally different. If anyone else is going what I am going through, all I can say is good luck. For those who aren't there yet; enjoy high school while you can. I took it for granted and I actually miss it. Don't get me wrong, college is fun. But it's so freaking hard. lol.
So I am torn...do I watch Grey's Anatomy on Thursday...or Supernatural? I honestly can't decide. Hopefully I can make up my mind before Thrusday.
I'm seriously missing my Gilmore Girls. Especially now, since it's my 'go to show' when I just need a laugh. Thank goodness I have the DVDs...I would never make it. I hate Tuesday nights now though, because it reminds me that GG is on anymore, and it saddens me. I'm totally getting a friend of mine hooked on it, though, and she's borrowing all my DVDs to watch them. To bad it's over....
Well, that's it for this post. Hope everyone is having a good week.
