I am sure those who follow european football already heard about yesterday`s afternoon match on Emirates, Arsenal v Manchester United has been shown live in 3D in Sky experiment for the first time!
!The next live show in 3D will be the opening match for World Cup South Africa 2010!
The new era in technology has just begun!
The article bellow explains everything...
3D Ready Televisions - The Next Big Thing?
"With technology moving at an unprecedented pace, it seems that 'new and improved', updated gadgets are released almost immediately following a previous version. But no matter how nifty that previous version was, consumers still love to see - and own - the latest, most technologically advanced products. (that describes me, no matter the cost...) So it's no surprise that the mention of 3D readytelevision has a lot of mouths talking - including those of big electrical companies, who are expecting it to be the next big thing.
A giveaway of what might be to come is the vast presence of 3D films. The recent animated movie Bolt was shot in 3D, with upcoming movies such as Toy Story 3 and Shrek Goes Fourth also benefiting from 3D enhancement. What's more, older films are being revamped with 3D treatment - among them, Chicken Little and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
But animated films aren't alone in the 3D arena. One of the top film directors is said to be working on a live action 3D movie, stating it is the ultimate way to enjoy a film. Needless to say, movie studios are not hesitating to invest in 3D films.
So it makes sense that the world of television is following suit. At the January Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, countless manufacturers were showing off 3D sets. Moreover, at another electronic gadget showcase in Germany, researchers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications unveiled a 3D television that can be controlled by gestures.
However, despite such advances, certain 3D viewing experiences are not ideal. For instance, in order to enjoy most 3D televisions, you have to wear special headgear or glasses. That's because to get a multidimensional picture, each eye needs to see the image slightly differently. In addition, the viewing angle for many 3D TVs is restrictive, requiring viewers to sit at a specific angle. While this might work fine for cinemas, it's not as practical for living room viewing. Still, some electrical companies are trying to develop TVs that require neither headgear nor angled seating.
Another question is whether consumers will fork over the money for a nifty new 3D television, when many have recently purchased another new, possibly costly release, or made a digital switchover. Moreover, with affordable developments such as digital TV widely available, many might not see the need to venture over to buying a 3D TV. The experts believe it will be a long time before 3D television is cheap or compelling enough to be mass market - stating while the technology is almost there, the interest might not necessarily be."

3D camera used on a pitch yesterday.
I envy those lucky people who had the opertunity to be the pioneers...![]()

I might have mentioned this before (in term of wannabes) that i want a HD receiver ....so i did some investments last year in summer ..and succesfully tricked my wife to get what i wanted.![]()

Azbox Premium HD, wifi, internal disk

120cm dish with 8 lnb`s and a switcher on my terrace
And now, I can watch almost all european HD channels (112 of them atm, but new ones arrive every week) ...So, naturally, I didn`t miss yesterday match live in HD (as a ManUtd fan) The idea was to use my 50 inch TV Full HD (the one I am still paying off ) to the fullest resolution...and I did. I have almost all the packages ...Sky UK HD, Sky Italy HD, Sky Germany HD, Canal+ HD France, Polish, Bulgarian ...you name it I have it. So I am pleased that I can follow every match in Premier league, Bundes league, Serie A ...and got easily addicted to it, wife also. She don`t even watch SD channels anymore, after all those whinings. 3d technology can be a trap...

...we might end up like those fat humans in Wall E! ![]()
When i finaly thought that i am on the top with my hi tech upgrades, new stuff is on horizont. ![]()
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3D ready tv`s are the new generation of high tech... and 2010 is the year to start with mass production.

But you also need 3d glasses, and the fun is here (though, wearing glasses all the time can create addiction, and they are not comfortable but clumsy).

Imagine watching boxing live in 3D, that can`t be...healthy
.
The first game that use 3D (after the movie) is Avatar (PC), you`ll need a 3D screen and glasses...

...which aren`t cheap for an average gamer...

..but I am sure the feeling is awesome.
What do you think, will this be useful? ...I think we can find a benefit from sports at least, specially those who like sports but can`t manage the time or money to be there on the pitch in person.

Friday...the best day for playing games after a full week of hard days at work. When I have something nice to play then I usually can`t wait to end my shift, thinking about the game at work and run home as fastest I can to continue playing. Most of the time doing so, I forget lot of things...like leaving my cell phone or my wallet at work, forget to leave important messages to my co worker and boss, to buy stuff that we lack in the house etc, so no wonder my wife is so angry at me and spit fire
One of those games that makes me forget things is Mass Effect 2, the true hit at the beggining of this year.

The bad part is ...when I really find something that i like, I always tend to finish the game in record time ....like something is pushing me and say "You won`t get off from that chair untill you finish it!" so I usually play like insane till the morning with almost no sleep at all. Please tell me, if there is another lunatic (like me) who can play game for 8-10 hours in piece, then I am sorry for the poor bastard
.
PLAYING LIKE INSANE
Yeah, you figure it out, I finished the game in less then 3 days, and i am not talking about just rushing thru the main story, i did all the secondary quests as well (2 minor quests remained unfinished) and did all the tech upgrades...OK, i admit I skipped lots of those loooong dialogues ...hell, i want some action, spare me of big talks. Believe me there is nothing to brag about...coz now, once again I have nothing to play, and this is one of these games in which you need to go slowly, level up, upgrade ...but honestly, Mass Effect 2 doesn`t bring much RPG elements anyway, so i think its not a real challenge for any hardcore RPG player.
THINGS TO REGRET
I never finished the first game (i stopped somewhere at 30%) ...mostly because the first game (in my opinion) haven`t been optimized for the "middle cla$$" PC configurations (and there was no money for me to upgrade to the latest graphic card in order to play with full details) ...game just dragged, like a drunken monkey. I only regret not to use the option of choosing from two main characters from the savegame when finishing the first Mass Effect game (as I heard), but I guess i must live with that now
.
STORY (I won`t ruin the game for you, chill)
Story is phenomenal and when once pulls you in you just want to play more and more, to investigate more planets, to gather resources for the tech upgrades (ship, armor, weapons, powers etc) Hint: Material element zero is very hard to find, only few planets have it, so you endlessly need to scan planets ...and scan...and scan, its boring as hell but something that must be done otherwise, you wont stand a chance against mighty ...

...Mechs!
Carefully scaning the planets you get bonus missions and possibly a landing zone (shame that 90% of planets are just for resources and you can`t land to explore them
).
Check out my medals in this video...in mission called "suicidal mission" there is a medal for finishing it with all team members, but thats hardly possible because loosing your team members is made as animation and cannot be avoided...hm
Bonus missions are mostly boring and terribly short ...pick this, pick that...and call for a emergency pickup afterwards. Those planets aren`t exactly a huge places to explore, there is just a narrow path to follow ...when will they learn how to make bigger open areas instead of just walking on scripted maps? ...you know what i am talking about ...like S.T.A.L.K.E.R for example, that gives us the feeling like we are there really, plus its a base for any RPG, correct me if I am wrong.

To trust this guy or not...your call.
I even found something amazing and innovative in this game... on one planet you can actually get burned and die (first your armor then your skin) if exposed to a direct sunlight, so you need to remain in shade...!
CHARACTERS
Characters are the best part of this game, various races of aliens, half humans, test subjects, convicts and other scum of the Universe... once you gain their loyality they will follow you to the death, and you will be sad to see them die... plus, its your choice to take their side or not ....then you risk the loyality of other characters.

One of my favorites ...Samara, you better get her on your side.

Jack, it was a real pleasure helping her...one nasty girl!

Bad company, imagine them dancing in night club, ugly mother ***** ...yeah, you can dance in this game.

Geth technology ...
BAD PART
I would rate this game with a perfect 10 but...

First of all, all the maps have some sort of fuel boxes or some sort of explosive chemicals ...on every damn mission, come on! Filling an empty level design with tons of boxes is lame! Combat system can become a little derivative and repetitive.
Well, you can see some of the gameplay videos i posted here and judge by your own...
The last one contain spoiler.

I also tried to play Dark (A)Void ...its a game to avoid most certainly. ![]()

The flying part is great...

...but you mostly play on ground... clumsy controls, low texture graphics ...not worth my time.
As you can see, I have joined Raptr thanks to Gery and i think, even in its beta stage its a nice little piece of software that track your games and playing time. I like it, and i like to see what other gamers playing atm.
Also, i want to thank mrs Robinson for placing my last blog under editorial and gave me an emblem (even though i hate soaps
) ...that might change my writing perspective in future.

Whats in da box? ![]()
I almost forgot ...I played some pool today, the real deal, not computer game...woah.
Yeah, it`s tuesday ...and for me the most hated day of the (working) week. Just a quick update on my gaming progress. I actually got Avatar: the game (i thought it might be fun afterall) and King Arthur: The roleplaying wargame (whatever that means
) to start with gaming in 2010. As I said before, in lack of quality games to play i must satisfy with those two.
First of all, Avatar isn`t as bad as the critics say (at least it deserves a better score than 5), it does support DX10 option and 3D (for which you need to have a 3d monitor --- or something) ...so visual style is quite well made, audio isn`t bad either. Note that I actually don`t praise the game but i think it does give us some fun time playing!

Gameplay is fast and fun (a true non brainer but fun) with lots of various weapons and armor sets which you unlock with gaining XP, also some special abilities like stun, faster movement etc. Driving vehicles is a little clumsy (as seen in Borderlands) but driving a boat and heli is quite fun. I just spent hour or two playing this game so i can`t judge for the final impression. I only wish there is a first person view instead of 3rd, but oh well...
Second game i am playing right now is King Arthur, a very strange mix of RPG and RTS...

... so far it doesn`t seam to test my strategy skills at all (and I think i am very good in this genre) , it`s very easy to win battles even though i hope to see some harder battles as I progress further in game.

The RTS part is very similar to a great Total War series (thats why i was interested in the game in particular) even the map is so similiar with TW...but with no micromenagement
RPG part is to be discovered, coz i have no clue how to use the spells and stuff, or how to upgrade them....yet.

Spells in Total War look-a-like game? Eh, why not.
Seams like an interesting mix of genres. Graphic is a real eye candy, music is phenomenal (i wish to hear something like that in all wargames) ...the music just inspire you to play more and win!
A GOOD YEAR FOR PC GAMERS?

As 2009 was in sign of consoles, i think this year is gonna be a blast for PC gamers... after what I saw on Mass Effect 2 (first I must play and finish the first game that i quit playing), Napoleon: Total war, Age of Conan: Rise of a godslayer, Alan Wake (hope this year) and lot more of those epic games (big long games) ...that will give me a lots of gaming hours, if only there will be more free time.
So, let`s wait a little bit more and see what developers hide in their sleeves, hoping for the best with no more delays, please.

PS: Check out the new gameplay trailer of Napoleon... awesome stuff!
