Thanks for all the well wishes last blog! The surgery went well and I'm feeling much better now. I wasn't too thrilled with staying in the hospital for 3 days (the food sucked), but I discovered this awesome little thing called the Morphine pump so it wasn't so bad And I'm pretty sure I had a few messed up dreams while I was under but, thankfully, I can't remember them In fact, I don't even remember going to sleep. I just remember them hooking me up to an IV, then getting really dizzy. Next thing I know, I'm in the recovery room

During these past few weeks I've been staying at my parents' house while I recover. All I've been doing is sleeping and playing World of Warcraft (to be fair, it's the only game I have here ). I'll probably be returning to my apartment on Tuesday so it's back to RE5 platinum hunting and, I guess, working on my senior project... maybe

-Gaming Updates-

World of Warcraft

Nightnova (Level 80, Night Elf Druid): Got the cool purple dragon mount!

Saayuko (Level 68, Orc Hunter): Have a full set of level 60 PVP armor and tamed a T-Rex type pet. I named him Patches as a "Family Guy" reference.

-Random Thoughts-

  • Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my fellow Canadians! I've always wondered why we celebrate it in October and people in the United States celebrate it in November, so I asked Google. Turns out our Thanksgivings are both for different reasons. In Canada, we're giving thanks to a bountiful harvest. In the United States, you guys celebrate the Pilgrims settling the new world. Either way, Turkey is involved, we just get ours first.

  • Watching The Simpsons, Family Guy, and bad horror movies after you've had major abdominal surgery is not a good idea

  • I found a great job opportunity I want to apply for as soon as I get my diploma. It's a private company that designs weapons for the Canadian Navy. Me being a woman in the Army Reserves just about tripled my chances of being hired! I need that project done now!!

  • Summer is over! The scenery at my parents house is beautiful this time of year though. Well, at least until the leaves fall of the trees, then it gets pretty depressing because winter is coming.

There's a major river that runs in my parents backyard (they have 47 acres of property so it's a pretty huge backyard ).

Your parents place looks nice. Good luck on your project. That job sounds fun. I was in the navy myself back when I did my military service.
Posted Oct 11, 2009 11:40 am PT
@Kid_Black_Star: Thanks!

@anzelm: Thanks! I'm not really a fan of water so joining the Navy is kind of like plan B if I don't get this job

Summers only just over for you? It barly started for me.

I wish I had a purple dragon
Posted Oct 11, 2009 12:35 pm PT

Glad to hear you're OK! I'm assuming it only hurts when you laugh?
I suspect that it's hospital policy to serve terrible food - it's probably seen as an incentive for the patients to get well and leave as soon as possible ...
... and @ mention of "the pump". I have (admittedly blurred) memories of that contraption myself.
Good luck with that job! Obviously your gaming experience will aid you in weapon design ... personally, I'm rather partial to the Gravity Gun from HL2. *hint, hint*

Aww, so cute ... *pets Patches ...*
*... reattaches arm*

Glad to know you're feeling better now! Playing World of Warcraft sure as hell is a good way to fight the blues (Anielaric, Level 80 Ret-Paladin, at your service ).

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving and good luck for that job!

I hate surgeries but I love IV shots. When I feel a minor pain, press it. I am glad you're doing ok, since you play warcraft everything should be fine.

Glad the surgery went well. Happy Thanksgiving... I have to wait till next month >
Posted Oct 11, 2009 3:36 pm PT
Good luck with your job choices and also best luck on recovering from surgery.Morphine can give you some weird dreams so I understand what you mean.Independance day was always a mystery for me concerning the canadians and Us in the U.S. You celebrate it on July 3rd and us July 4th.We didn't have much of a sumer and now iy's fall already. That's almost as depressing as the coming cold weather.Stay well and stay safe!

Great quote and good to see you back in action!!! That picture of the field in front of your parents house would be a great location for a movie: Attack of the Corn Zombies!!!

Really glad to hear from you gamer_girl I was thinking about you and was going to send you a PM one of these days so I am glad that you showed up after a couple of weeks The surgery went fine and you are feeling better now? That is great! Wow! You are going to get an extraordinary job!! I always dreamed of working in a not female typical fields but I ended up in arts and graphic design which I think would be considered a girls job. Though must admit most famous prominent designers are males

Once again, good luck with getting your Diploma and and also with the private company when you finish up everything.
Your parent's field and backyard looks amazing,it looks like they live more in the country than in the city but i could take living there as well just to get away from everything.
Thanks for the quote and enjoy the rest of your day.

Posted Oct 14, 2009 6:07 pm PT
Ah, I am really glad that the surgery went well for you, and playing games to recover is always good too. Wow, designing weapons does sound rather cool and interesting, have you fired a weapon before? That's something that I would really like to try someday. As for your parents house, I am impressed at how spacious and beautiful it is, I really am. Anyways, get started on your report.
