Hi guys!

Yeah, I know I said I'd be back two weeks ago. Sorry Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas though!

Right now I'm at my parents' house for the holidays. The internet isn't as bad as it was when I lived here (they use to have dial up), but the wireless internet tower got damaged during a storm and it's a lot slower than usual. The worst part is I can't play World of Warcraft until they fix it.

For Christmas I got a PS3 and LittleBigPlanet. As soon as I took the PS3 out of the box, it got covered in a layer of dust and smudges. And to top it all off, my parents' cats like walking on it Can't wait until I get is safely into my apartment this weekend!

Oh and I turned 20 on Dec 24th! I feel old

And now, I proudly present my end of 2008 highs and lows! It's been a crazy year I have to admit.

Highlights of 2008:

4) Wow. Although I started playing WoW in 2007, I really started to get into it this year. The expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, was also released this year adding a lot of interesting content to the game. Blizzard did add a few changes I'm not happy with though (level 80 PVP gear for example). And no, I'm still not addicted. Here are the results of the quiz I took to prove it:

3) One year down, one more to go... In May, I conquered the first year of college. Which wasn't easy by any means. I'm still wondering what I was thinking taking a program that required Calculus though

2) Midnight madness! When GTA IV came out, I was in line at midnight to get it. It was an interesting experience to say the least! An amazing game. I just need to play it more often.

1) 100% achievements on Assassin's Creed. Probably the only great gaming achievement I got this year.

Lows of 2008:

4) Only 3... The grand total of games I beat this year: 3. That's right, just 3 games cleared in 365 days. I'm ashamed to call myself a gamer

3) Abandoned Xbox 360. Although happily received in Christmas 2007, my poor Xbox 360 has turned into a giant dust collector in 2008. Even more shocking, my copy of GTA IV still sits inside it, untouched since August. And I probably haven't been on XBL for a good 200 days.

2) Here today, gone tomorrow. 2008 has definitely been the year that I have disappeared from GameSpot the most. Actually, I think I lost count of how many "I'm back" blogs I've made this year I'll try not to let it happen as much in 2009. No promises though.

1) LittleBigFailure... I did manage to survive all the school work that got thrown at me towards the end of the semester. Well, almost... I got my marks back and I failed one subject. What really makes me angry is the fact I failed it by 2%. The teacher who normally teaches it is gone on vacation this year and the guy we have for a replacement doesn't have a clue how to teach this course! Looks like this guy doesn't like me too much either (come on 2%!?). Luckily, I can write a make up exam next semester (if he lets me that is). Just seems like a lot to go through for a couple lousy percentage points though.

***

Happy New Year everyone. I wish everyone all the best in 2009!

College has been crazy lately so I haven't had much time to stop by. I've got 2 major projects due next week and 2 final exams coming up. And to make it all worse, I missed a week due to the flu and now I have tons of extra stuff to catch up on. I've never been this close to failing before so I have to put a lot of effort in during these last 2 weeks of the semester.

On the bright side, after this mountain of work is done, I have 3 weeks off for Christmas vacation! After that, 3 months of classes follwed by a month of on the job training, then graduation!

Well, see you all in 2 weeks I guess

Hey guys!

Sorry I kind of disappeared again for a month and a half. I've been really busy with college and work so GS hasn't been a high priority. But I must confess, World of Warcraft has been the main thing that's eating up my GameSpot time

Gaming Updates: (Feel free to skip the massive World of Warcraft section )

World of Warcraft: Blizzard decided to release a nice little patch that made WoW a little more addictive. They revamped the talent trees (cla$$ abilities for those not addicted to WoW), and added a new achievement system. The achievement system reminds me of XBL achievements. It's been fun trying to get as many as I can although I know I'm never going to get them all.

There have also been 2 in game events: Hallow's End and the Scourge Invasion. Hallow's End has a whole bunch of achievements related to it and I have been hunting those since Hallow's End is only once a year. The hardest one was an achievement that required a rare pet drop for the Headless Horseman (a holiday boss). I got it though!

The Scourge Invasion event is basically an event leading up to the new patch, Wrath of the Lich King. For a while, Blizzard had put crates carrying an infectious disease in major cities. This disease turned your character into a zombie, and gave you the ability to attack any other player in the game. Over time, the virus got stronger and turned people into zombies faster, and became more resistant to cures. It really reminded me of Resident Evil so I enjoyed it a lot. I must admit it got really out of hand around the last couple of days though. You couldn't go into any major city without being killed by a zombie.

Super Mario Galaxy: I got all 120 stars but I don't really feel like doing it again. I'm done with this game now.

Metroid Prime Corruption: Finally started playing it last week. This is another game I've been neglecting since last Christmas. I'm not too far into it. I just beat the first two bosses. I really enjoyed those two fights though!

Grand Theft Auto IV: It has gathered quite a layer of dust (along with my 360) I plan to set some time aside for it soon though!

GameSpot Updates:

I actually leveled up for the 2nd time this year! I've been thinking about joining a few unions and returning to the forums once college has settled down a bit. I'm also working on a few reviews. When I am here, I only comment in blogs and hunt emblems.

GG's Life Updates:

College hasn't been going so well lately. A mountain of assignments decided to hit me all at once. I've been failing tests and falling behind. And no, it's not because of WoW The main reason for my bad marks is actually work. They've increased the number of weekends so it's been hard to concentrate in college.

Also I picked up a baby sitting job on the side. I have to babysit from 11:30pm to 1:30am, 3 nights a week so it's been really messing up my sleep schedule and adding to my problems at college. I've decided to quit though. I'd rather have a college degree than extra cash anyway.

Hope you guys had a great Halloween and have an awesome week!

Quote of the week (or more like last month and a half ): "Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect, it means that you've decided to look past the imperfections."
