GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

I've never really thought about blogging here at the *spot.com sites, but, I thought I would try it out.

I went to see 300 last night, you can read my review here for it. This blog, however, is about going to the Wynnsong theater in Mounds View, MN.

I love this theater, mostly because it's the closest THX certified venue to me, and they've got 2 MASSIVE screens that they show their flicks on. My only issue is that it seems as though, since they went to DLP projectors, the films gotten more grainy.

It's always packed there, which is also good, sometimes. The theater nearest me might fill half their capacity on a good Friday night for a new release, but this place sells out freqently.

The biggest complaint I have, though, is that their ticket prices are inching up. The last movie I saw there was a couple weeks ago, and it was an $8.25 ticket, this time, however, was $8.75. At this rate, I see be see Coastal ticket prices (which are upwards of $12 a shot, I know) before too much longer.

I don't understand this. Really I don't. I get economics. I'm very familiar with how money works, but, it just seems so unnecessary.

I'm not that old, and I remember $3 matinees and $5 prime time tickets.

I bought two tickets a couple hours before the show, and the kid says, "$17.50".

I said, "Really?"

He said, "Yep."

I bought my tickets and said, "Thanks, cheif!"

He said nothing.

Oh well. We got prime seats in the upper left of the theater, and the movie was amazingly good to watch.

This was a pointless film related blog.

My actual blog is better.

P.S.

The original title of this blog was supposed to be 300! but for some reason FilmSpot thinks that means I'm shouting and told me to turn off my caps lock. That's stupid.
