Hi, my name is Francis and I have video game ADD. I never finish what I start, and I inevitably quit playing whatever game has obsessed my after a week or so to move on to another game, which I subsequently quit in favor of yet another game. I can't remember the last 5 times I've seen the credits roll at the end of a game. It's a terrible disorder for a gamer to struggle with, because I recognize that games, like literature and film and other worthy art forms, have to be taken in as a whole to be properly evaluated. The end matters.

This is why I'm pleased to announce that I have completed Resident Evil 4 on the Wii in it's entirety.

Go me.

Well Francis with game ADD, you're not the only one with this problem. So I will congratulate you on your success... and now I will go finish Neverwinter Nights (blasted game! ).

NWN always slowed down after you first leave Neverwinter. Best of luck - it's worth finishing. I hope you have Hordes of the Underdark and Shadows of Undrentide to extend your play time with...

I do and although I haven't heard anything good about SoU I will probably check out HotU.

I don't know why people have a problem with SoU. It's very good. The only negative thing I can say about that expansion is that it's somewhat short, but other than that it's very well designed, and actually makes use of some skills in a character-building sort of way, outside of combat, more so that HotU does. The adventure itself is fun and engaging as well. I think people are just Underdark-obsessed, which is unfortunate.

Yeah, I've observed that on many forums. That's probably because of the drow (if I'm not mistaken, the Underdark is their home right? )... after RA Salvatore's books everyone wants to be a drow.

Right now I'm gathering data about a new character for the expansions and I'm going to start with SoU. I want to make a Cpt. Jack Sparrow character, I found this awesome portrait of him - D&D style - but I'm not sure what class Jack Sparrow would be. What do you think? Rogue?

Definitely a combat-focused Rogue! It's unfortunate that parry isn't terrible effective, if I recall correctly (and I might not!) because the duelist type with a focus on parry and disarm skills would fit the bill for him. Of course, he's gotta have a high CHA and don't slouch on the persuasion / bluff / intimidate / Etc. He's an accomplished pickpocket and coward as well... He's not evil, but certainly not good, so a solid neutral alignment would fit him best. I don't think he's accomplished enough with weaponry to take the Weapon Master prestige class. Shadow Dancer would be better, but still not exactly on-target. A few levels of fighter, a few of shadow dancer (hide in plain sight is all you need) and the rest rogue... in my opinion.

Well, here's what he turned out like: I went for a rogue, a swashbuckler (good with many types of weapons - one or two-handed, ranged - also great with persuasion). He has high charisma and intelligence, very high dexterity and the rest are average (as in 11 or 12 points). And of course, he's chaotic neutral (or "free spirit" as they call it). He's still pretty weak so I have to consider my next steps carefully. I thought about adding a few levels of Fighter but still don't know what prestige class to choose. Weapon Master seems pretty close, Jack's a good fighter, when he is forced to fight by circumstances that is.

So far SoU is pretty good. Xanos is hilarious! Thanks for the advice mate, specially concerning the higher levels!

I congratulate you on the success of finishing a game. And I could not have picked a better game to finish. RE4 is on my very short list of perfect games. I have the complete opposite problem that you have. I HAVE to finish a game. Even when it sucks. It's even worse actually if the game sucks because then it becomes a matter of showing the game I'm better then it By the way, did you ever play the gamecube version of RE4? I prefer the laser scope in the GC version over the reticle in the Wii version. But damn them for putting all the bonus content on the new version. Marketing pimps.
