I have been participating in Gamespot's entry to the World in Conflict Closed beta...and I say "WOW!" The system I'm running on has a QX6800 and X1950s in Crossfire. Not exactly top of the line, but ATIs older cards are handling beautifully, with nearly every spec turned up all the way (exception of Physics). I haven't exactly gone in-depth with the game, but I have tried out Armor (I was useless) and Support (managed to bombard a few fools).
With 16 players online with a class system, fighting on this dynamic battlefield, this is an encouraging sign for where the RTS genre is going, and frankly worries me about far off titles like "Halo Wars" which is going to try to be good, while dealing with the immense limitations of the Xbox 360 hardware, magnified by the part where the game likely to come at the end or after 2008. This is truly a display of how the PC remains dominant over any console, not only in power, but in gameplay as well.
