Nvidia released a bunch of updated beta drivers for its chipsets in the wake of the Bioshock release. Boy, does Bioshock run much more smoothly (and look much better) on my PC as a result. Unfortunately, I have a laptop with a GeForce Go 7900 GS and none of the official Nvidia Vista drivers support mobile hardware. Fortunately, some website that I googled hacked the new driver .inf files such that they would work with the mobile chipsets. What sucks is that figuring that out resulted in one less hour of free time to play it.

This is why I tend to avoid PC gaming.
The BioShock demo played without any problems using the non-beta 162 drivers on my GeForce (Stop) 7900 GS Vista box at 1280 x 800 pixels, but it suffered from random crashes and occasionally saw some odd visual glitches at 1600 x 1200.
I don't know if upgrading to the 163 beta would have prevented these issues, but I'm not going to find out. They wouldn't be labeled "beta" if there weren't known bugs in them, right?
Praying for a BioShock PS3 to be announced.

I have the exact same graphics card on my laptop and didnt know there were hacks so it would work but I do not have Vista so wouldn't work for me but hey I ain't interested in getting Bioshock for the PC anyway or any PC game in the near future but it is good to know it is going well for you.

Well I would have purchased the 360 version had my second 360 not crapped out on me last week and was I to receive a third one from Microsoft anytime soon (as it stands now: 5-7 weeks). Darro, the same website also has new modified Nvidia XP drivers that can be made to work on a laptop. A PS3 version of this game definitely would have been nice.

I can imagine the PC version takes a lot of power, especially from the video card. Hope you enjoy the game my friend.
