I went into the movie expecting to be kind of meh. I love Depp and Burton, but I am a big fan of the original and I was terrified Depp and Carter couldn't pull of the singing. Amazingly though they did, they weren't amazing singers, but they really did pull off the characters quite well.

I loved the setting and atmosphere of the movie, something Burton is best at. The entire film was dark with few colors in the scenes. The costumes were perfect, even if they looked fantastical, but it worked for what Burton was trying to pull off. He was able to do so much more than the musical could on stage. What I used to have to imagine I could now see. Even the blood which looked kind of fake (which was probably to add to the fantasy of the movie as well as add a little color) was not a bad choice.

This is one of Depp's best movies in a long time, as well as Burton's. Everyone go see it!!
