GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

Knowing me and my cheapskate ways, I'll rent both games and beat them in a week. What I really want to know is how people view both games. From what I have noticed, all PS3 enthusiasts (fanboys) prefer Infamous because it is an exclusive and Xbox 360 aficionados (fanboys) prefer Prototype because they can't play Infamous. I'm looking for honest to God righteousness. Is Infamous being overhyped? Or is Prototype not being given its due? Radical Studios might be writhing in the shadows of Sucker Punch Studios, but who knows for sure. I'd like to know what you guys think. I like Infamous, but Prototype seems to have a unique setting that can't compare to Infamous. But then again, the guys that are making Prototype only made Simpson's Hit and Run and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Can these games give Prototype a bad or good rep?

I have noticed that I don't blog enough. Shortly after this realization, I had come to the conclusion that my life is boring. So to keep things interesting, I am going to blog about recent debates in gaming to see how people feel about the situation. Happy arguing, everybody.

Hmm, I'm in the same boat you're in. Though I am only a PS3 (well my brother has the Wii ), its a coin toss for me too. Both games provide a "sand-box" type environment. But from my understanding, in Infamous there is emphasis on moral choices (i.e. save the citizens or terrorize them?) which leads to different powers and abilities. And it looks like you pretty much tear **** up in Prototype. And their powers are different; Cole (Infamous) uses electricity and what seems to be prakour to traverse the city, while Alex (Prototype) has these blade/tentacle things (basically he can shape-shift) and you can hijack tanks and stuff. Both very cool games, however.

In my opinion, I'm leaning more towards Infamous. Not because of it's exclusiveness but I think using electricty is compeltely bad-ass, lol. And well it is from Sucker Punch, I mean they haven't released a game since Sly 3. I think I'll be picking up Infamous soon (I would buy it earlier but I spent my $90 on Cross Edge and Super Robot Wars OG: Endless Saga XD) Most likely, I'll pick it up next week since I have a $30 gift card for Toy's R Us.

Sorry for the wall-of-text . And yeah I guess your life is boring...kidding, kidding! I haven't exactly made a blog post myself in some time. I have so much games I'm playing to even come here, lol

Well, hope you make a good decision COUGHinFamousCOUGH >_

Yeah, Infamous seems like a blast. The story is also intriguing as well. In Prototype, they make it seem like Alex is overpowered. It's going to be another Hulk: Ultimate Destruction all over again. Not to mention, Prototype has been delayed many times already. I just think the moves you can do in the game make it seem better than it really is. In Prototype, you can wield guns, tear people up, run them over, consume them, fly helicopters, etc. Sounds like fun, but also sounds like it is absolutely impossible to die. Infamous is at least a challenge. I don't know if I will pick up either one, but if I do, it will definitely be Infamous.

Hmm I really don't know what to tell you. I got to see Infamous played a bit because my brother went and bought it. It was a pretty interesting game really. As for the other one I haven't seen it at all. And yeah you don't blog enough, and debates can be fun.

Actually in inFamous its more free-running than parkour, Prototype has parkour, Im going with Prototype, I never played Hulk:UD , And I think Prototype looks really good, I played the inFamous demo and it was pretty fun, but if one reape had an avantage over you it coul easily kill you, in Prototype you may look as thought your invincible but we all know your not, inFamous' story is good, I think its better than Prototypes but since the game isnt out yet cant completely compare them, I have a PS3 and a 360(My 360 is dying though, no soun, all black colours are green) s dont say Im going with prototype because I cant get inFamous, also in inFamous theirs Reapers everywhere trying to kill you, you cant just stop and look around or admire the city, I like over the top gorey games, its just fun, graphics may not be as good, the story may not be as good, but C'mon, Im in it or the gameplay.

Btw was this long?

Cool Colmillios. If you get a chance to try it out, I recommend it. It may not be for everyone, but I thought it was interesting.

AxeMan, I'm not trying to make Prototype sound bad. I just have read the basic synopsis of each game, and Infamous catches my attention. But there is always improvement in plot twists and endings. I also think the overpowered gameplay in Prototype would be fun. I just don't think it would be challenging, while Infamous is very challenging. You are right about the abundant Reapers after all.

I definitely think Prototype could overcome Infamous, but based what I have seen so far, prototype will really have to deliver. I'm hoping Prototype has opportunities where you can admire the landscape. I like that in open world games.

Im not sayinf inFamous is bad either, Prototype is just more fun for me, Im interested in the story of inFamous though.. its quite good I think, but it gets a bit dull for me after a while.

Understandable. I just saw a portion of the game that I guess could be a "spoiler" and it has provoked me to finish the game. I could say the same for Prototype if they pull what Infamous pulled. Cole McGrath and Alex Mercer are really similar by trying to find out about their past. I'll give Prototype a fair shot for sure.

I will some time in the future buy inFamous, I would get both but at the moment Im only able to get one.

well i havn't been able to play Prototype yet so I really couldn't give a fair judgment yet as to wich game is better. That being said I own inFamous and it's a great game in it's own right.
